Almost all my friends have no idea what they want to do with their careers. Some are doing degrees and racking up huge debts just for the sake of it. Others are working menial jobs until they figure out what they'd like to do, which always carry the danger of getting stuck in that kind of job forever. The thing is, when you're growing up most people believe that they'll just walk into some job after they finished their degree/training and that they'll be able to do their dream job and live happily ever after. It's rarely, if ever, that straight forward. Every time I go into a shop or go to the bank or whatever, I always wonder if the 30 year old cashier thought he/she would be doing this when they were growing up, or if this would be their career in life. It's a bit depressing yeah, but perhaps the way you're doing things means you won't end up like the majority of people doing something they don't want to, and ultimately you'll be happier than most of them.

 

Ok, I'm getting depressed now. :(
