Headliner announcements for Leeds & Reading on MONDAY 21st!

 

I'm getting my ticket for Leeds on Thursday! :D

Headliner rumours are Muse/Strokes/MCR

 

Two Door Cinema Club, The Streets, Crystal Castles, Funeral Party, and Noah And The Whale have all self-confirmed that they are going!!!! And so have Muse apparently.

reading & leeds never lets down. but it will hard for them to top their bill from 2009.

Elbow will be heading to Pinkpop.

In terms of main acts, friday is pretty shit and saturday is meh.

I'm going to try to go to Sunday as I'm passing there on that day.

wow those are some pretty steep prices for Oxegen. i don't i would be able to pick a day before seeing the full timetable for the festival. and what the fuck is brandon flowers doing so far up the bill??!!??!

so who will get bottled at reading n leeds this year? i can't think of any at this point. maybe if they announce a hip hop act it might be easier.

 

MCR got the treatment last time they played, they're headlining this time so thats less likely.

i can't read a word of german but i get the impression from that website that you can watch the stream there of coldplay's headlining performance. as well as Interpol, Gaslight Anthem and a few others.

Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park as you all know was last weekend. the line up was very very poor. i had a look at the set times and i would've been very bored had i gone. anyways here's a bit of footage.

 

 

next weekend is probably the biggest of the year with Pinkpop, Bonnaroo, Isle of Wight, Jammin and Download Festivals taking place. fingers crossed for some good webcasts and tv coverage. Pinkpop almost always has decent radio and tv coverage with 3VOOR12? Bonnaroo i fear might be a Vevo only webcast meaning only those in north american can watch. Isle of Wight is usually covered by one of the british tv channels.

I missed Flo + Machine but My Morning Jacket are frken awesome. last time they played they did a 3hr+ set. they've been going for almost 2hrs tonight as well.

 

i'm expecting a massive set from AF.

and they're doing a 90min set!! i've seen bands with 4-5 albums who only do 80min sets *cough*phoenix*cough*

 

not a huge fan of their album but probably one of the most impressive live shows i've ever been to. great muscianship, great stage presence, great chemistry.....great everything really.

But yes, I agree, they were definitely a highlight for the third day of Splendour last year. Just awesome.

i guess when it comes to live music i'm a firm believer in quantity= quality.

 

annoyed that i'll miss AF's entire set thanks to freken work.
