Not everything in the world goes according to you >_>

Shut up, you're just jealous because nothing goes your way :P

I think the videos are funny and you can't say anything against that. You think the videos are awful and I can't say anything against that. C'mon, guys, it's fine if people have different opinions, don't take it personally.

No one of us owns the truth.

So, I said I found those videos bad, but I didn't really explain why. I'm gonna try to do this now

You're right, 90% of the people don't know who the 3 other musicians of Coldplay are - even some of their fans don't know them. But that doesn't make Chris Martin a narcissic!!! WE now he is not, we now he is exactly the opposite, but those same 90% don't know that, and most of them must think that what MadTV said is actually true! Making fun of somebody for something he didn't do is an awful idea to me, and at this scale, I think it is pretty disrespectful. Those images are carrying false ideas and prejudices. Here it's about Coldplay, a band, it absolutely doesn't matter, but it could be very irresponsible...

"I named my kid after a fruit" - that's what I call "Paparazzi humor"... That girl didn't do anything, why don't they just leave her alone? The second video was funnier with all the walking backwards thing, but there still is Gwyneth...

They're just making fun of him because he's famous... That's stupid to me...

But if it makes you laugh, good for you

LOL

People just said it wasn't funny. Nobody ANYWHERE said anything like 'how dar thay maekeh fun of colduhplway DER' apart from maybe the post above me.

What about right above me?

All I'm saying is: if they would've done such a thing with Paris Hilton, or Lady Gaga, everyone would be ROFL ROFL LMOA.

What about right above me?

Do you actually think I wrote I didn't like it because it was about Coldplay? Read again then...

I really do think I can be objective and honest even when talking about something I love, Coldplay and anything else.

We're all biased, and we know it ain't true. But admit, every parody is based on clichés, nd often those aren't true. But there's no reason that you could put that aside and just laugh with it.

I see what you mean but I don't know, I don't think I could go on TV and make fun of somebody (or should I say "make that person look like shit"?) in front of the whole world if that person didn't "deserve it" or something... I mean there is a gap between Chris Martin (with all his defaults) and Paris Hilton who can't do anything but expose her life :\

You're making a good point with this 'deserving' thing. But in fact they both kind of 'deserve' it, because they are famous. Paris derserves it more because she isn't really making people happy like actors and singers (like Chris Martin). But on the other hand: they might be making parodies on her which aren't true either

Hm. I don't get that  Did you mean that having people making fun of you all around the world is part of the job when you're famous? If you did I agree, but it still doesn't explain or "excuse" MadTV's behavior to me

But on the other hand: they might be making parodies on her which aren't true either

100% right!

I talked about Paris Hilton because you mentioned her but I was actually more thinking about this :

She choose to be on that cover and to show her life as a staging! A parody of this is much more legitimate to me!! ;)

Nah, I'd still not like them even if they were about Kings Of Leon. I you're gonna nail someone, do it right.

But that's the thing: they are doing it right. I mean, if they would make one on Oasis (r.i.p) for example, they would show Noel and Liam fighting or taking drugs or whatever. But there are no such things about Coldplay. So what do they do: they take the fact that everyone only know Chris Martin. We know this ai'nt true, but it is true for 99% of the population.

Indeed, that's what I meant with the 'deserve' it part. ( notice the ' ', no one really deserves these kind of things.)

And about Celine Dion: about the magazine fact, true. But I used Paris Hilton as a model because she never really did anything to become famous (except stupid thing perhaps). Celine Dion at least has talent.

No, I meant make them funny.
