Asked as devil's advocate once more

 

What of the Libyans who do not what major involvement from other countries and are wary of our motives? Could it no be dangerous? We have a habit of creating enemies by 'helping' others.

In regard to the risk of it becoming a long battle, and hence either other countries' designated funding being spent (or even ours), then I would cringe a bit. Government would have get special legislation for further funding, and I think that would really upset people given the current economic situation.

 

In regard to Libyan citizens being wary of our motives, that probably won't be the case here. I mentioned in the other thread that there is a significant Arab-American population in the region where I live, and local news stations were interviewing former Libyan citizens; they fully support what is being done right now.

To answer the original question (even though I am not American)

 

I find it interesting how so many Republicans want to fund/support this war

 

But they want to cut funding for teachers/firefighters/policeman/and other government funded programs that help citizens.

 

It shows where their true loyalties lie

In the early days they put a huge emphasis on the fact that it was 'their' revolution. And I'd be extremely wary of interviews undertaken by our own media.

 

On the other hand, their opinions may have changed once the revolution lost a little momentum, or rather faced such drastic backlash.
