  • Lol I haven't been here in 5 years but I decided to pop my head back in for some nostalgia. Seems like this was my last post so here's an update... I finally saw Radiohead live in Manchester in 2017 a

you can't make your opinions to be facts. i go get ready for a club now.

well theyre still far ahead of Radiohead plus destroy them live :nice:

in fact matt bellamy does the thing that threee people are doing in radiohead much better

:laugh3::laugh3::laugh3::laugh3: far ahead of Radiohead hahahahha

How are they far ahead of Radiohead? hahahahha

back up your statements man

I could say that the Spice Girls are way ahead of Muse but thats jut my opinion.

you said muse are far ahead of radiohead.....so yeah you're right, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about

How can Muse possibly be 'miles ahead of Radiohead'?

They're a totally different band with an utter different 'sound'.

Sure, Showbiz kinda ripped off the likes of OK Computer in its day, but nowadays Muse are way too bombastic to be compared to Radiohead whatsoever.

I agree that Muse are a brilliant live band, but I'm sorry... cannot be compared. Not anymore.

P.s. Radiohead > Muse :P

(and I know, I have a Matt Bellamy avatar.. so meh)

your avatar proves something else, plus how many times have you seen Muse live?

Muse: 10x

Radiohead: 8x (though I'm sure I'll surpass the 10x boundary next year)

How does seeing a band prove that they are better haha.

In that case my friend's band the Contact is better than Radiohead because I've seen the contact about 10 times and radiohead zero times.

see,whats better again? :P

Nah, Muse just tend to play festivals more often.

For the record, out of the 10x I've seen Muse I've only seen them at an actual venue twice.

8x were festival appearances.

Whereas only 2x out of 8x Radiohead were festival appearances

;)

Don't get me wrong, I love Muse, but I don't think you can compare a band that has put out 4 albums and been around for far less to a legendary band like Radiohead.

Radiohead to play Main Square Festival

Radiohead have added the French Main Square Festival to their tour schedule. The festival in Arras doesn’t have a date yet, but Radiohead will play the festival after their Werchter appearance and before their show in Berlin.

This means the show will be on the 6th or 7th of July, 2008. Currently, there’s no information on tickets yet. The Main Square Festival is the fourth French show on their upcoming tour. As confirmed earlier, Radiohead will also be playing Paris (twice) and Nimes in June. The tickets for those shows are expected to go on sale soon.

Update: The Main Square Festival updated their website. Radiohead will be playing on the closing date, July 6th. The festival will start on July 4th. Tickets will go on sale December 21, through http://www.digitick.com

http://www.mainsquarefestival.com/ I love the word in the middle of the festival main site

P.s. Radiohead > Muse :P

Radiohead > Muse .

Thom Yorke’s ‘From The Basement’ on SkyArts

As reported earlier, Thom Yorke’s performance for ‘From The Basement’ will be aired on television for the first time. SkyArts will broadcast four songs on Saturday December 8.

The first episode aired last week and tomorrow night, the second episode will feature Nigel Godrich’s (“I’m a sad fan trying to bring the magic back to music TV.”) production with The Envelopes, Albert Hammond Jr. and Thom Yorke.

On the recordings Thom said: “From The Basement was exciting because it came from the desire to cut out the crap that lies between the music and the viewer. To get plugged straight into the mains. No producer director egos messing it up. The highlight for me was listening to Kieren and Steve Reid jamming as the tape started rolling.”

Thom will play the new Radiohead songs Videotape, Down Is The New Up and Last Flowers. The Eraser track ‘Analyse’ will be broadcast as well. Show starts at 9pm UK time. You can already check two videos at the From The Basement YouTube channel ( http://uk.youtube.com/FromTheBasementTV ).

Sky Arts can be viewed every Saturday at 9PM on Sky Arts (Channel 267/Sky HD 268).

well it causes the fact that more people are interrested in Muse nowadays

No, probably because:

a) Radiohead only play a couple of festivals every now and then (they decline a lot, like Glastonbury next year), whereas Muse play just about every big summerfestival spread over two years of time to promote their albums to the max. Radiohead are not like that. They prefer to play to fans, but do get a kick out of playing to a massively packed festival field every once in a while;

b) Radiohead are a more expensive live act than Muse

well it causes the fact that more people are interrested in Muse nowadays

This after about 10 minutes ago saying nobody is interested haha...make up your mind.

Germans fans cheapest, Italians most generous

The Greenwood brothers had an interview with Belgian Focus Knack. Colin and Jonny talk about releasing ‘In Rainbows’, not signing with EMI and reveal that there’s a Spice Girl and every one of them.

One of the goals set for ‘In Rainbows’ was to prevent the album from leaking on the internet beforehand, as had happened with the previous three albums.

Colin: “It felt like a gigantic risk. Like Mission: Impossible, almost. We destroyed all CDs after every day of recording. And on the master we’d always write a name which would probably nobody would listen to if we had lost it; ‘Eagles: Greatest Hits.’ ‘Kula Shaker Demo’s.’ ‘Phil Collins’s Hip Hop Covers.’

Jonny: “Did you ever hear that record? You won’t believe your ears!”

In the meantime it turned out ‘only’ 38 percent of your fans paid for the ‘In Rainbows’ download. Were…

Colin : (interupts) “There were a lot more, although I have no idea of the latest figures. The last thing I heard from our manager was that our German fans were the cheapest, our Italian fans the most generous.”

Do we have the right image Thom creates for himself in interviews; The dictator who creates a ‘climate of fear’?

Jonny: No, that’s the image the media like to create. Scary Thom.

Colin : (dry) There’s a Spice Girl and every one of us.

Jonny: The only thing he can be really unreasonable about, is his hate for banjos. For fourteen years now, I’m trying to tell him you can make very dark and warm sounds with those. But every time again it’s ‘ No. Fucking. Way. ‘

Is it correct that you didn’t want to work with EMI anymore after they were taken over by money machine Terra Firma?

Jonny: Absolutely. At the takeover, Guy Hands, the new CEO, announced that he wanted to quadruple the profits around 2012. But not on very ethical way with handling music, it seemed. So, we tried elsewhere.

(more later)
