I really am very surprised that the London dates havn't sold out yet.

Guess it's a combination of the price and being a huge venue.....

Still. Weird.

Download & print a 2008 Radiohead calendar

Just when you thought it was an annual tradition with Radiohead releasing their official calendars, we’ll have to do without for next year.

However, John Galantini decided to make his own 2008 calendar - In Rainbows style, posted it on the At Ease MB and received a massive response. You can now download it from John’s website and besides all the Birthdays you can add all the Radiohead Tour Dates.

NY Times: Pay What You Want for This Article

The New York Times have an interview with Radiohead online, featuring mp3 samples of the interview and new photos of the band. A big part of the interview is - of course - about the ‘Pay What You Want’- release of ‘In Rainbows’, but also about the recording process of Radiohead’s seventh album.

The Internet had already witnessed much of the gestation of “In Rainbows,” as Radiohead tested songs in public, knowing they would be bootlegged immediately. “The first time we ever did ‘All I Need,’ boom! It was up on YouTube,” Mr. Yorke said. “I think it’s fantastic. The instant you finish something, you’re really excited about it, you’re really proud of it, you hope someone’s heard it, and then, by God, they have. It’s O.K. because it’s on a phone or a video recorder. It’s a bogus recording, but the spirit of the song is there, and that’s good. At that stage that’s all you need to worry about.

how annoying can people be lol

‘Paranoid Android’ tops Ultimate Radiohead Top 20

Radiohead fans have voted ‘Paranoid Android’ as their top favourite song. The track from ‘OK Computer’ was number 1 in the Ultimate Radiohead Top 20, which was broadcast on Phoenix FM on Saturday.

‘Paranoid Android’ topped the list in the previous edition (2005) as well, when ateaseweb.com and Phoenix FM first asked Radiohead fans for their all-time-favourites. The ‘OK Computer’ album is represented in the Top 20 with 8 tracks. For the first time, fans could vote for tracks from new album ‘In Rainbows’. 3 of those tracks (Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, Nude and Reckoner) made it to the Top 20. Forthcoming single ‘Jigsaw Falling Into Place’ almost made it, but got stuck at 21. The track which Radiohead is most known for, ‘Creep’ surprisingly didn’t make the list. Niether did the other tracks from Radiohead’s debut album ‘Pablo Honey’.

Maple/Fontana to release ‘In Rainbows’ in Canada

Radiohead will release new album ‘In Rainbows’ in Canada through MapleMusic Recordings and Fontana North on January 1st.

Chart Attack reports that Toronto’s MapleMusic Recordings and Fontana North have a distribution arrangement with the Dave Matthews-formed ATO Records Group. ATO are releasing Radiohead’s 7th album in the US. And it should come as no surprise that the companies will also work together in releasing Radiohead’s In Rainbows on CD and vinyl in Canada on Jan. 1.

“MapleMusic Recordings/Fontana North have been an amazing partner for us in Canada and we’re thrilled to be working the Radiohead record with them,” says ATO president Will Botwin.

Maple is focusing on “ Bodysnatchers” as the first Canadian radio single from the British band’s seventh studio album.

More cover tracks on new webcast

In the past week BBC Radio 1’s Edith Bowman has been playing parts of an interview with Ed O’Brien where he revealed that Radiohead are doing another webcast.

Ed: “We’re probably going to do a Siouxsie and the banshees track next week. We’re going to go back into the studio.”

On picking the forthcoming single, Jigsaw Falling Into Place, Ed said: “We don’t actually pick the singles, unless we have a very strong opnion about it. Nowadays it’s what people play on the radio. We’re not the best judges of that. So we leave that to our very good friends who help us out on that. Kevin and our management. It was actually the last song to make the album. We had 16 songs and it nearly didn’t make it onto the record and ironically it’s the first single. I like this song. Thom kept saying it’s a friday night record: You’re in the pub, it’s all kicking off. You had a few drinks, it’s the end of the week. You just got paid and this is what happens. You wanna have a dance, you see a girl in the corner. You’ve had a few drinks, you smile. The look, you know all that stuff. I love this song. It’s remembering what Friday nights were like.”

Ed also talked about how the setlists for the live shows come together: “We usually play two nights in a venue so we can actually play different sets each night. So, that’s cool. Phil, Thom and I do the setlists. Before a big gig the setlist meeting can go on for about three hours. It can start like this: Thom would say ‘we’re not going to play anything of OK Computer. We’re gonna play all the hard stuff’. And you go ‘OK, Alright’ and then you have arguements like ‘Don’t be stupid. Of course you have to play Paranoid Android. Don’t be rediculous. 20,000 people. These poor people came all this way and then play some obscure songs from a b-side.’ There is actually an answer. You want people to listen and you want to push them a bit. And you want to reward them for listening. So, it’s about dropping the songs at the right time. And also, it’s about a flow. Those gigs, when there’s ‘the band and the audience’… you know those when the top of your head comes off. It’s almost religious. You’re trying to work towards that as well.”

Listen to a compilation of the clips (thx Noli me tangere) from the interview, where Ed also talks about how the songs come together, which Radiohead record to start with for new fans (’The Bends’), on recording ‘In Rainbows’ and also his favourite new bands (Kings Of Leon, Klaxons).
