Coldplay in SOUTH AFRICA is gonna suck! :(

Featured Replies

i feel like i am the only south african that actually cares and pays attention to what the band is doing other than from mainstream midea info. for eg. ive collected all their live concerts in 2011 and have learnt all the new songs and it seems as though not as many south africans even care. i feel like most of them will be standing there with their cameras and nothing else... my buzz is gone.

^ how come you think that the crowd will be that dull?

plus is not the first time a coldplayer doesn't know other fellow fans in their area, it doesn't mean there aren't.

i remember i saw more south africans around the board, i'm sure they'll go to the concert.

also think is not the first time it's happened that they go a country but not to the near ones even when there's a big community fans in the other countries aswell, so the near countries join in the big concert.

^ that

Plus its the 1st time on SA

Plus you'll see the real new coldplay show

Plus one or 2 new singles will be released at that time .

Show will be epic I can assure you :D

i think my problem is that im one of those types that gets really into it... tickets were sold out way before i even knew they were on sale but i managed to get some. has anyone ever been to a coldplay concert when it was their first time in your country? what was it like? im sure people are excited but theyre not showing it...

I thought the audience at Rock am Ring would be shit and it turned out to be one of the bests!

Many people won't know the new songs but that's alright. They'll go crazy for the big hits =) I'm sure it'll be a great experience. Don't worry too much, just enjoy it and let go.

dude, there are enough of us to make it special. i stayed up outside the ticket office in the street for 10 hours to get golden circle, and the sheer size of the line at 5am proved to me that there are others out there like me, plus when i see people like you on the forum, i have hope that there are enough people who have enough coldplay knowledge to make the show massive. i really think the title for this thread is so wrong though.

are you going to the cape town or jhb concert by the way?

Well i think SA SHOWS GONNA BE HEAPS GOOD SINCE THE TICKET SOLD OUT VERY WELL

I think considering the tickets sold out in a reasonably short time that the show is pretty much guaranteed to be a great one. And given it's their first lot of shows in South Africa ever, I can't see how you'd doubt it.

Coldplay in SOUTH AFRICA might not be so bad..

Im going to the JHB one on the 8th... i guess itll be great though, hoping the people that bought tickets are not just doing it to be part of the event and not take part if you get me

I completely understand where you're coming from, it truly annoys me when people just buy tickets to be part of something when they're not even fans! But I am going to the JHB show on the 8th, flying all the way across the country for it, and I assure you that I'll be screaming, squealing, singing and dancing the entire night. I too am one of those people who has every cd, knows every b-side, has seen ever live video etc etc.

Also, when I went to queue for tickets, I met a bunch of people who are also flying up for it, and they seemed like true fans as well. So even if we're small in number, we'll be huge in enthusiasm. :)
