But when you think about it, you only are your thoughts. The being that you call "yourself" is merely a collection of your memories and experiences inexplicably bound together in a form that continually makes more memories and experiences to add to itself. You kinda have to be controlled by your thoughts if they are all you have, all you are.

This is true, you really are only a collection of thoughts and past experiences which mold how you perceive things in the future.

However, I think what the book means in a realm of right and wrong and what you perceive to be right and wrong, controlling your thoughts can dictate which way you act in terms of morality, instead of thoughts (for instance if bad) control you. However, if your thoughts were good ones, would it then be ok for the thoughts to control you? As the book seems to imply thoughts controlling you could potentially be a negative thing.

Damn book!

Maybe it is kinda like, "Don't follow the wandering thoughts, they could stray you from the right path" or something, instead it tells you to control your thoughts. That's my only real guess. It seems like a weird thing to say; I think of my thoughts as myself, what I implement to control myself, not something that needs to be controlled itself. :S

I was wondering where you went! I thought we deeped you out!

On the topic of right and wrong, as I was getting ready to head to work today I caught a glimpse of the Today Show (which I don't like but whatever), and they were running a story on this sweet little kid who called 911 and stayed on the phone with the operator through a home invasion. He described the situation very well and kept the operator up to date on what was happening, and there was no way this kid was over 10 years old. He hid in a closet and stayed on the phone with the operator until cops arrived and eventually took control of the situation (yeah the two robbers did get busted and sent to jail), but the emphasis of the story was on the praise the little kid got, and rightfully so, he handled that situation amazingly and did everything correctly. What bothered me was the fact that a kid that young was home alone, and none of the anchors mentioned that at all. What the fuck? Seriously. If that's my kid, NO WAY IN HELL do I leave him home alone at that age. Why did nobody mention this? Where were the flippin parents? Is that not a relevant question to this situation? haha, good grief.

Isn't that illegal? I thought you had to be like thirteen or something to legally stay at home alone... (Speaking of home alone, this is strangely related to Home Alone... 3, was it?

Yeah why would you leave a ten year old alone in a house?!

I don't know if its illegal but definitely immoral

I hate papers. My english teacher tis year is like fanatical about them. -_-
