Back to topic: You should really go to that party. I'm sorry I don't know what to tell you. You don't want to ruin your friend's birthday party. Maybe try another night ? It's really important that you tell them. Try to organize something when they can all be there. Tell them that it's really important to you, that you have something that you want to tell them and you need their support, maybe it'll give them extra-motivation to come ?
