August 17, 201114 yr personally id say this order: rush of blood > x and y > parachutes > viva la vida didnt think there was enough gd songs on viva i think a few let downs on it compared to the others which are near flawless as for mx i think its gna superb and near the top ;)
August 17, 201114 yr I think pre-Eno reached a dead end at X&Y. The changes were welcome and needed, although I prefer the old work. I'm afraid though that LP5 will be Eno-era's dead end.
August 17, 201114 yr ^ u think X&Y is better than VIVA???:veryangry2: What does every body have against X&Y?! It's the best Coldplay album!

August 17, 201114 yr Author What does every body have against X&Y?! It's the best Coldplay album! outside of Fix You, X&Y feels like it features chris's voice more then any other instrument by far. once it gets past speed of sound, the album really goes downhill
August 17, 201114 yr ^Fix you is the only song from X&Y that is better than VIVA songs It's all about opinion. I think Fix You is one of the worst (read: least good) songs of X&Y and of Coldplay. My opinion: Rush > Viva ~ Chutes > X&Y Chutes and Viva just can't be compared, but I think both aren't as good as Rush and they are better than X&Y (which is still a great and enjoyable album. Once it gets past Speed Of Sound, it's a masterpiece). From what I heard I'm guessing MX will be just above X&Y or maybe even below.

August 17, 201114 yr "...Sunlight, opened up my eyes To see for the first time You'll open them up And tonight, rivers will run dry And not for the first time Rivers will run..." I love the lyrics, it's the only Coldplay song lyrics I can sing without reading

August 17, 201114 yr 3 albums vs. 2 albums. I think I'll go with 3 albums. :| But real talk; Brian Eno didn't do anything bad to the band, he only changed their sound a little bit. Would I prefer the band to try a different producer next time around, maybe Markus Dravs alone? Sure. Would I be against Eno continuing to work with the band? Not at all. In all seriousness, I would pick pre-Viva albums because I like AROBTTH, Parachutes, and X&Y collectively more than VLV and MX material. I think that they should try new things, experiment... if they just made these five albums over and over again, I wouldn't listen to Coldplay as much anymore if at all. :)
August 17, 201114 yr I've heard so much shit about X&Y that I can't really decide how much I like it. But let's say: Rush >> Viva > Parachutes >> X&Y, and that means I still really love X&Y (I think). I have hopes MX will be as good as Parachutes. Which is pretty friggin awesome.
August 17, 201114 yr Hey guys, not sure where to post this but just need some help, tomorrow I have a job interview and have to give a personal presentation which I have chosen coldplay! Just looking for inspiration so I'm just wondering why do you love coldplay (on a personal level) I no how great you all are so please if you have a minute could you let me no! Not sure if someones answered your question yet. The first 3 albums i can connect to on an emotional level, with the lyrics and how the albums tie in with events that have happened in my life whilst i've been listening to them. Viva La Vida for me is just musical perfection, i absolutely adore its overall "sound" and the "experimental nature" of that album. Hope that went some way to answering your question. Good look with your presentation
August 17, 201114 yr I realize most of these broad discussions turn into a discussion of why eno sucks or x&y sucked, but this has been decidedly more civil. Personally, I think x&y is the worst album. I would explain it like this. Most people have had a stale potatoe chip or flat soda. That's what x&y was for me - stale. It still was coldplay, just more boring. Eno injected life and passion into their music for me. For a while it was equal, but now album favorite is vlv with arobtth a close number 2. Parachutes a solid 3 and way far away x&y. And understand I'm speaking to them as albums. X&y has plenty of great songs. I just consider it a grueling listen
