May I ask why people put a flag for the flag of a country that there not even from?

i dunno. maybe if they for example live in the uk but come from like canada they`ll put a canadian flag. or something.

If I was a amreican I would not be proud to put my flag up.

I did not make this thread for smart ass remarks.

I dunno.. Brazil may have tons of problems, such as violence, poverty and the taxes we pay to the Monetary Fund... But I am very proud to be born here.

word!

There's something to be said of those who're proud of their motherland, no matter what. It shows you're upright and you've got a spine! I would not want any Germans to be ashamed of being Germans due to their past, or Brits for enslaving half the world, etc.

Patriotism is a virtue, not anything to be frowned upon.

I sure am proud of where I am from.

hums "Battle Hymn of the Republic"

I am proud to have been born here in Michigan, but sometime's I am not proud to be an American.

well, as they say here, "I wasn't born in Texas, but I sure came here as soon as I could!"

sings "Yellow Rose of Texas"

I am proud to be British. :)

What's so confusing?

it's one of the most popular car bumper stickers here

and the song...well, it's popular song of Texas heritage. they always play it here for July 4th concerts. That, along with "Texas, our Texas", the "Blue/Gray Medley" and many others....you know the routine, i'm sure! :d

No, I don't really because I'm not from Texas...We don't do anything like that up here...

I'm not going to force people to put the right flag up but it would be nice to know where you're all from instead of wondering "Are they REALLY from Afghanistan?" :o

LMAO

and I really like the one from Djibouti!!!

Not sure if that person can actually point to an Atlas and tell you where Djibouti is located! lol (horn of Africa)

I AM CANDIAN!

although, im also native american, and we would have had complete control over this vast continent, but some white dudes came over and gave all of my people chicken poxs, and the flu and killed a lot of us, so technnically, im truly Canadian, unlike some people that just migrated over here about 1000 after we already clamed out territory.

^^^

^ Good for you. :)

:-)

hey greatDivide, i was talking about the July 4th songs, other than the ones related to Texas. I'm sure I don't have to tell you which ones those are....well...like "Star Spangled Banner" "Stars and Stripes Forever" "Battle Hymn of the Republic" "Lincoln's Gettysburg Address" by Aaron Copeland, "Yankee Doodle"

etc.. etc...

Chuckie, there's a theory that says Indians also migrated to the Americas, at some point. We can all go back to some point in pre-history and say we all are immigrants to our present lands. Didn't we all come from Africa at some point?! :D

I am Israeli fo' real. ;) I don't know if I'm extremely proud or not (hmm), but I am indeed so.

(Cauliflowers RULE!)

umm...not sure if there's actually a sports team called cauliflowers! or even a music band by that name!

but the vegetable, Cauliflower, yeah....it rules! lol i wuf the cauliflower/peas/potatoes curry!
