I got robbed today..

Featured Replies

So I was getting out of a dance club with 2 friends of mine, it was like 6:00 am (9 hours ago) and we were walking in the street when 4 or 5 guys came running after us and one of them grabbed me and my reaction was to punch him in the face. Fatal error. He took out his knife and tried to stab me with it, so I took his hand to try to keep away the knife and then he told me to give him everything I got. At that moment one of my friends was able to escape and he ran for help. My other friend was beside me fighting with a guy who apparently didn't have a knife but his cellphone and money got stolen anyway.

The worst moment was when I gave everything to the fucker who tried to stab me with the fucking knife and he asked me to give him MORE. I didn't have more money and he had already taken my cellphone so I got really nervous, I really thought he was going to kill me. The guy was shouting "GIVE ME EVERYTHING OR I'LL KILL YOU IN FRONT OF YOUR FRIENDS". So he tried to stab me one more time and then he told me to give him my shoes. So I did. At that moment my friend who ran for help came running with a security guard and the thieves ran away. I really don't know what would have happened if my friend had not ran for help. I don't want to think about it. It makes me shiver.

Luckily, a taxi was there and the taxi driver drove us home for free. Nice guy. When we told him what had happened he got really angry.

My hand now is full of wounds because of trying to keep the knife out of the way. But luckily nothing happened to the three of us, we are all well and safe. But i'm stiil VERY shocked and just wanted to let off steam.

The worst thing is that these motherfu***** are drugadicts and they were clearly high when they stole us. So it's impossible to know how they're going to react. Things like this happens every day here and many times they end up killing someone. This country is shit. Sorry for this thread, I just wanted to express my feelings.

Really horrific experience you had there. Thank God that you are all safe.

That's nuts! I'm glad everyone is okay.

It was really horrible, it all happened in a few seconds but it felt like an eternity. This is the 3rd time I get robbed but it was the worst by far.

The third? :stunned:

Yes :\ The first time was when I was 12 years old and the second one was 2 years ago. The insecurity here is really bad, and we are one of the most "secure" countries in South America.

OMG I'm glad you're okay. :) But that was really terrible. :o I was never robbed and hopefully will never be.

That's really scary. I don't know how I would react in a situation like that. :uhoh:

It is. Just don't try to defend yourself. I reacted like that and it nearly costed my life :\

Thanks :) It was really horrible. I still have the image of the guy with the knife in my head. I hope you never get robbed, it's one of the worst experiences you could ever have.

Dude that sucks. Happy you're alive(and not raped).

I was robbed by a hobo once with a giant wrench...no joke.

Thats a terrible expierence im sorry you had to deal with that :(

But maybe its times like this that makes you appreciate life and how lucky you are to be alive! hopefully the cops can catch that guy and bring you justice i will keep you in my prayers!

Indeed. I always thought that I would be really mad if someone stole my money and my cellphone but now I don't care about that at all. This could have ended up much worse than it actually did. It's really shit how one second you're having fun with your friends and the next second your life is in danger.

I don't thinks that the cops will catch them, and if they do they'll only send them to the police station and then they'll set them free as the majority of them were probably under age :\ Thanks for worrying anyway :)

Jesus. :stunned: The world can be seriously fucked up sometimes. Glad you're safe!!

I know right? :\ Thanks! :nice:

That's awful. But thank goodness you're safe though. Be more careful after this!

:\ That's really fucked up juanif94. But fortunately you're alright!!

I've also been roved about two times with a knife... But not like the motherfuckers really tried to stab me... Just threating me and I always gave my things away. There was also another time, when some dude tried to steal my cellphone with his knife but I didn't let him (yes, I was lucky).

I think the lesson one must learn here is... Never try to confront or play around with an armed person. Some of them don't give a shit about other's life and wouldn't doubt to stab you at any moment if they feel like it. Unfortunately this is the reality in most of South American big cities... It's not really as bad as it sounds, but you should be really careful not to be in lonely places at night, etc...

It's a horrible experience. You feel like you are so vulnerable and that your life doesn't have any value at that moment. I made a terrible mistake when I punched him in the face, but I didn't know at that moment that it was a serious thing. I thought that maybe some drunken guy came to fight but when I looked back and I saw the guy with the knife I thought it was all over.

It's sad, but this is the reality we are living nowadays. I have to go now to the police station to lock my cellphone number and maybe get a new one if i'm lucky.

Btw you should try to keep some sort of weapon with you not to hurt people but for security at times like this... maybe pepper spray or a tazer!

Oh God! I'm so sorry for you but glad that you are ok. Here in Argentina it is the same. I was never been robbed (maybe because I lived so many years in Europe) but all my family members have suffered the insecurity, even with a gun in the middle of the day. A hope you don't have to suffer this again. Be careful.

Oh juanif that is a nasty experience. Thank god you are ok. It can really bring you down and make you feel very insecure but stay strong and over time you will start to feel fine again. Stay safe and stay cool. ;)

At least you're okay and not seriously injured (phew)

And you got a free ride... that's pretty cool

Thats is awful, I really don't know how I would react in a situation like that.

Also juanif you did the right thing in that situation by just giving them what they wanted. For sure it sounds so defeatist (and I hate defeatism) but it's not defeatist when it's potentially your life at stake. It's the other way round. When someone comes up to mug you just give them what they want. Don't bother fighting it. You don't know what they may be wielding.
