Hey there, I'm Zack. I've visited the Coldplaying forums many times but never actually thought about joining until now. I live in the US, write and perform various styles of music, and enjoy philosophizing instead of doing homework when I've taken my Adderall.

My favorite band is Radiohead, but my favorite band to follow is Coldplay. These guys have so much talent, and I love to see when they make great use of it (and hate when they ignore it).

I've taught myself musical theory since I was about 11, and I usually focus on musical structure when listening to songs, and this is something I think Coldplay isn't given enough credit for. I think, although they're lyrically weak, they are such a good band because of how they're able to make great music. Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends is my favorite Coldplay album because it's the perfect balance of that classic Coldplay sound and true musical experimentation (especially noticeable in the unusual time signatures in tracks like Yes and Death And All His Friends).

Death And All His Friends is, hands down, my favorite song of all time. So epic.

I'm looking forward to meeting some other Coldplay fans here!

Welcome ZAck!

Looks like we have something in common :awesome:

Hello! And welcome. :) Radiohead is my second favorite band after Coldplay. They are just AMAZING! OK Computer and The Bends have been played on my iPod so many times it's not even funny. Lol. But Radiohead came out long before Coldplay, so I've gotta give them a big loud cheer for their inspiration to Coldplay, as Coldplay would most likely not be Coldplay as we know them without RH. :D
