Need help with a speech.

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, I'm hoping I can get a little help from some of you. I am doing a speech for school, and the speech is on, Why might people like live music better than the studio version? So if you could be so helpful and answer my question. Tell me if you do like live music and why? And if you could give me one reason why it might not be a good thing. I know a lot of you enjoy live music. Of course, just looking at all the media updates I know. So please and thank you. Also share an experience. Maybe one at a Coldplay show.

Why might you like live music better than the studio version?

(could also like studio version but would still appreciate an opinion)

Its because of the energy and sincerity of the artist. You get to see everything raw and with the artist's pure natural talent. YAAY for Chris Martin! :)

You're totally right!

Plus, it's like a proof that the artists you listen to are really talented, because you can see they don't change their voice or anything, they're giving everything they got.

Also, although I've never been to a Coldplay gig, I think it must be so cool to sing with the crowd and you know, feel the atmosphere.

The role of technology is one of the factors too.

I'd say the reason people like live versions better than studio versions is the whole experience of hearing a band live. I saw Coldplay a couple months ago, and you just get swept up in the whole crowd-mentality, everyone is singing along, and I just felt this real sense of community the entire time I was there. There's so much energy in the atmosphere!

It's very difficult to ignore a live version. People often make music for the background, but with a band like Coldplay, every song is one to join in on.

Just listening to the Leftrightleftrightleft album, the crowd are so vocal. That's another aspect that makes the hairs on your neck stand on end.

And finally, the moments that you wouldn't normally get in the studio. Like the "my love" in Live Yellow, and Chris' promise of ice cream on Live 2003. The elongated end note of 42 on Leftright. The "la-la-laa-lala" that Chris sometimes does in the Scientist.

Thank you everyone. Some of things I couldnt have thought about on my own.

"mrkjhnwht" your right about the vocal experimenting. Also the instruments.

I may be in the minority here but I actually prefer listening to studio versions over live recordings but having said that there is no feeling in the world like being at the concert yourself.
