Coldplay Chris mentors Professor Green

Featured Replies

IF CHRIS Martin ever decides to quit the music industry, he should consider going into counselling.

The Coldplay singer is acting as Professor Green's mentor, telling him if he ever feels low, he can give him a call.

Chris reached out to Pro after learning of his dad's suicide when the rapper was younger.

Pro said: "Chris is clearly a brilliant mind. He took us out to dinner when we were on tour with their band and I really enjoyed having a good chinwag with him.

"He's very inquisitive. We went for dinner and he was asking me questions about growing up.

"Somehow we got on to the subject of my dad and obviously, with him having committed suicide, it all got quite dark. But instead of switching subjects we ended up talking more.

"It resulted in him saying, 'Well, if ever you are thinking about committing suicide, just phone me and we'll go for a pizza and just talk'."

"He is very, very typically English — very polite and he seems to care about the right things.

"Everyone in their crew took the time out to say 'Hi' and have a conversation with us. A lot of people don't take the time to do quite a lot of things as soon as they get any sniff of success, but it's the total opposite with Coldplay."

They might need to find something else to eat other than pizza though — Pro hates cheese.

He said: "I just don't like it. I've tried to make myself like it because I see so many people enjoy it.

"My manager thought it was so funny that he put a selection of continental cheeses on my rider."

Surprised he doesn't like the smoked variety.

Still don't get why people find Chris arrogant or whatever. He is the sweetest!

He is indeed.

I like how Pro Green described what Chris said to him: "if you feel like committing suicide call me and we'll eat pizza"

Obviously it's an abridged version of what Chris actually said. :P

I think people who don't know the band well assume he should be arrogant just because he's had huge success...there's also the magic of jealousy at play, probably

Chris is lovely :) I remember Pro Green tweeting quite a lot about Coldplay a while ago actually.

Oh that's so sweet and lovely from Chris :wacky:

Chris and the rest of Coldplay never cease to amaze me! Here they are, one of the biggest bands on the planet, and they're still some of the kindest, most down-to-earth people. :)
