^Yeah, it's nice to see that. They usually knock themselves out on tour, so this will be a lot easier on them and their families.

Thing is, like I said, those opening ceremonies are most likely already planed down to the last detail, and Coldplay would have got the invite by now.

But I could be wrong, and if I am I'll eat my hat...as long as it's made of cake!:D

Perhaps will they close the ceremonies then? Otherwise it's a serious dissing of the most successful UK band since the Beatles. My gut feelings tell me we don't have the whole story.

^It may not be a dissing. Maybe they chose not to play it for some reason. That would surprise me, but yes, I suspect they were spoken to about it at some point. It would only make sense.

Perhaps Ryan Seacrest will ask them again at the iHeart Radio event on the 10th. When he asked Chris back on June 30th during a radio interview, the latter could only say they weren't going to be there. Apparently he wasn't joking.

For me it really doesn't make any difference whether they're in Montreal or at the Olympics, but it would be great exposure for the band to be at the Olympics. Apart from tennis, I don't know how much of it I'll watch anyway. But for the band, it would be great exposure. After all, isn't that what Chris always says he wants, for Coldplay music to reach as many people as possible?

I was so busy with family and business in the last decade that I wasn't paying that much attention to new music. It took just 1 evening of relaxing with kids and watching a tv show where a contestant sang Fix You, and the rest is history. Just imagine how many more fans they'd gain by playing at the Olympics.

But enough with my ramblings.

^It would be amazing, and it would perfectly make sense. But unless it's the closing ceremony, they really CAN'T. They sold out Montreal on July 27th. And even for the closing ceremony, they'd be short on time. :\

Sorry to be selfish, but it makes a HUGE difference to me, since I'm likely going to that gig, lol. If they knew well ahead of time, which they would, that they'd be playing the Olympics, they'd be way out of line to book then postpone a show. Pleeeeeeease, Coldplay, don't dis a Canadian gig!:D
