Here, you can relate how many years you listen to Coldplay music and can share your memories related to their music.

Back in september, it's been 7 years that I'm listen Coldplay music. :awesome: And I love them like the first time.

In 2005, I lived a hard period in my life and their music helped me get through these difficult times. I also have great memories with my grandmother related to Coldplay. I spent the summer of 2006 at my cottage with her. We had no TV, just a CD player and CD Coldplay. We listened a lot to Parachutes, X&Y and AROBTTH. She absolutely loved their music. Even today, she remembers those moments, how she loves Shiver, Fix You, In My Place, Trouble, Everything Not Lost, Life Is For Living, Yellow, Viva La Vida.

Today, I watched with her the Glastobury show 2011, she loved it! At some moments, she was like "Can you increase the sound of the TV?!" My response: "Grandma, it's already at the higher"

^ Your grand mother is awesome :awesome:

For me December 2005 when Talk was play on the radio :3 I could stay beside the radio during 4 hours just for hear Coldplay.. One one day I'm gone on my sister's bedroom. I took a CD with wrote Coldplay with a big marker... And during 7 years I don't shared my fanatism for Coldplay because for be honnest I was ashamed... I don't know why it's so stupid...! I have discovered Internet whith coldplaying, coldplaycorner... now I'm so proud to be Coldplayer. :D And I'm happy to know all Coldplayer here! :) Love youu !

So I love Coldplay since 2005 <3

Trouble played when my mum had a citroen BX back probably as long as the song has been out. I don't really have any memories of Yellow(!), which might surprise people...

2005 my mum bought x&y and it just missed the 1 hour journey we did every week. Loved it!

When Viva La Vida came out I think I downloaded it, can't recall. In 2010 I finally realised Coldplay were great, downloaded all their albums (4 albums) and became a moderate fan.

Gradually my love grew. MX was coming, Charlie Brown had been played once and I was always watching it online :D Then glastonbury came and I watched it live, singing to all the songs (minus the MX era stuff)... I fell in love. I had a hard patch at the end of 2011 and downloaded a whole compilation of Coldplay songs, B-sides etc

This past year I've bought maybe £200 worth of Coldplay stuff, been to a concert, watched all the live shows they've done & all the streams.

I can't say I've been a fan all of my life but I can say I'm one of the biggest fans now.

Your Grandma is a great fan. :awesome: Maybe a Coldplay-related gift for Christmas for her?

Thanks for sharing.

For me the Coldplay wake up call was on 22 June 2008 when I heard Viva la Vida for the first time when it debuted at no. 1 in the UK single chart. I fell in love with that song for good - it is still my all-time favourite song. And of course I began listening to them.

I had also heard Clocks and Speed of Sound before - liked them - but when they were no more played on the radio - I had forgotten about them. Until I heard VIVA LA VIDA. :awesome:  :vuvuzela:

That's what I call a cool grandma!

My grandma was into football and I took her to the stadium for a match.

The concert in Hannover this september was my 20th Coldplay gig, the first one was in 2003!

august 2005.

my dad bought X&Y, I stole it and listened to it all summer (I was 11 and it was the first "adult" music I ever liked)

i consider my Coldplay fandom to have started when i first heard Speed of Sound in the spring of 2005, even though i didn't actually get to listen to the rest of X&Y until that Christmas :P

7.5 years... it's gone by so fast...

Well.. I remember I liked Speed of Sound and Talk in 2005, but I didn't really knew that it was by the same band. (Or that's how I rememember it..It seems like that I knew it when I look back at my Youtube favorites from early days)

In October 2008 on the Faroe Islands I heard VLV for the first time, and I started to listen to them around December 2008. I especially liked Violet Hill and VLV. :nice:

.. And then I sneaked around on Coldplaying for some months before I got in here..

I had heard Yellow and liked it, but wasn't really a Coldplay *fan* until The Scientist. In March 2003, when I was 15, I flew to Ireland. I was listening to the "radio" on the plane and The Scientist played every 1.5 hours. It was the first time I heard it and I LOVED IT! When I got back to the States, I bought their CD. Then I bought Parachutes. Then I started going to every Coldplay concert I could possibly go to in my area (my first Coldplay show wasn't until August 4, 2005 though).

I absolutely loved the Backstreet Boys and Ricky Martin when I was younger, but that was a phase that lasted a couple of years at the most. It's been 9 and a half years and my obsession with Coldplay is still going strong.

So to be exact, my Coldplay anniversary is March 11, 2003 :)

Yeah, it will be a good idea! : )

Arh, can't remember the exact date but real fan status was achieved after hearing Shiver on Steve Lamaq/Mark & Lard 'record of the week' on radio 1 a few times. It came after first hearing Coldplay accidently on Lamaq's show the previous year and thinking they sounded really rather good.

Then headng down the local CD shop to buy one of the 3 copies of the CD on sale, (thats a vivid memory for some reason) so must have been around Feb/March 2000 i guess.

I've always liked Coldplay but I became a real fan on July 2nd 2005 when I saw them during the Live 8.
