With his band Coldplay, he regularly sets the pop charts alight. Sadly, it seems Chris Martin does the same in the kitchen.

His wife Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that both times the singer tried to cook her a meal the fire brigade had to be called to their house.

The American actress said she does all the cooking at their London home, saying of her husband, whose hits include Yellow and Paradise: ‘He has twice cooked a meal and this is not a joke, both times the fire brigade came. I swear on my life – both times.’

 

 

 

In an edition to be screened on December 12, Miss Paltrow, 40, who has published her own recipe book and whose films include Shakespeare In Love and the Iron Man series, helps Oliver and Doherty cook for customers at a cafe they have opened on Southend Pier.

 

She is also filmed trying to devour a burger and drink while riding a rollercoaster at the Essex resort, and reveals that 35-year-old Martin’s preferred birthday present – perhaps not surprisingly – would be a survival course.
