Official Coldplay Fan Store!

http://www.coldplayfanstore.com

Alright guys, so, it's now open!

It's not perfect, and it still has a lot of work, but it should be good for now :)

Let me know what you guys think!

When you first get on, you probably wont see any ads, because no one has posted any. If you're one of the first 10 to post, use the coupon CP10 to have it be a featured ad (it stays on the top)

Hey guys!

I've been in this forum for a few years now, and a Coldplay fan for even longer.

However, I have noticed something. Whenever I want to find a rare/semi-rare Coldplay cd/poster/collectible, etc... I end up having to search through pages and pages on eBay, only to never find what i'm looking for. And whenever I want to sell my Coldplay related stuff, it gets lost in pages and pages on eBay and very few people see them...

So, I have some experience in web development and design....and I would like to propose starting a Coldplay fan store. A store specifically for and from Coldplay fans to sell their Coldplay related stuff, whether it be old collectible stuff or just whatever cool Coldplay things you have. I can have it set up as an eBay-like website, where you can directly sell your things with a set price, or put them up for bid.

I would like to start on it! the domain of coldplayfanstore .com is available, so I want to know what you guys think so I can go ahead and buy it and start working on it :)

Please tell me what you guys think!

(Also, please forgive me if this isn't the right part of the forum to submit this thread...thanks!)

Yeah I think you should do it. It seems like a pretty good idea to me.

That's a great idea :)

I want to make sure people will use this, though. Maybe I can do a poll to see how many people will like it?

^ sounds cool to me! Kind of like the Etsy store website? Where people can do things/art themselves and sell it to others?

That's a great idea!

I'm always searching for Coldplay things and usually can't find exactly what I want with ease.

In fact I was looking for a t-shirt from the Parachutes era once and I found an "I hate ColdPlay" one (yes i know ColdPlay, it's Coldplay, that's what it said, not me being a crap fan).

Great idea :D

Where people can do things/art themselves and sell it to others?

YES! That's amazing idea! You should add this option to this website. I have some art that I want to sell but I don't know where and if anyone would buy it. That would be a lot easier with your site :)

That sounds like a great idea. I could see a poster then. :surprised:

Sweet! So...I have bought the domain (coldplayfanstore.com) and I am working on the site! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

And if anyone would like to contact me to help me out, please send me a pm :)

The site, I hope, will be up in about a week :)

I can't wait to see it.

You can add the option that would let people send their request and say what they're looking for.

Great idea. And paypal would be the easiest I think. But there should be an alternative for those who live in countries where paypal does not work (yes, there are still some ;)

I'd like to know how would payment work ? Would it go through paypal or something ?

Ok, so, the idea (I think the easiest thing to do) would be that it would work much like craigslist.

In other words, when a person wants an item, they contact the seller (I'll have nice contact forms and what not, and the seller can choose what information to display)

Then, the seller can choose how the person will pay (paypal, etc)

I can even add an option were you can show were the seller is, and if a person wants to pick it up, they can get in touch to do so (much like craigslist, in case someone lives in the same city or something)

I think this would be a safer way of doing it, just because I don't want to mess with people have to put confidential information and stuff.

But we'll see...these are good ideas :) anything else? anyone interested in helping me out with some category sorting or logo making or anything else, please pm me :)

I could help you with the design/look of the store.

I don't know craiglist, but this sounds like the best way to do it. After all you cannot take responsibility for confidential information.

That is an amazing idea! :D I would love to have a Coldplay fan-store somewhere, anywhere (As long as it is accessible)!

I could help you with the design/look of the store.

Thanks for offering, Twisted mind. I think for now I will worry about the look of it later. But I will let you know if I need anything :)

For the most part, everything is turning out well! I can't wait till it's available.

The only thing is, it's gonna be tough maintaining the site, so I might, at some point, need to ask for donation... I just really don't want to get money from people.

But also, I would like for people to know about this website. So, when it comes out, spread the word!

Hopefully I'll find a way to get it on the main Coldplaying site so more people can see it. Does anyone know who I need to talk to about this?

Thanks again for the support, guys! I'm excited! I can't wait to see what people share and sell on the site.

Will this be legal considering copyrights and ect.?

Well, considering I'm not making money for it, and I'm not charging people for this, and the fact that people aren't so much "selling" the items like in a store as they are posting an ad for them (like you would on craigslist, ebay, etc), then I do think it should be legal.

If there's anyone who would want to help me find out if it is legal or not, I would love the help. I am assuming I'm fine, but I don't want to get in trouble.

I'm doing this because I love Coldplay, and I love their fans.
