Quick update for the site..

 

I need your advice on a couple of things. First, what should the categories be (and what should be and not be allowed to sell?) Recordings, artwork, clothes, etc.. ?

 

Secondly, do you guys think I would need to contact Coldplay to make sure it's ok? (I'm sure they have a legal team or something). It's not that I'm worried, I just want to make sure that when this goes live, no one will be mad.

 

Other than that, the site is looking great, and it's all in schedule. It should be up and ready to go in a few days! Keep checking here for updates (I will update the original post here with more details as the site goes live)

If I understood correctly, your website would be a website where fans who have some Coldplay-related stuff sell them to other fans, right ? Then i don't see what would be the problem, as the products don't belong to Coldplay but to the owners, fans. Kinda like a special Coldplay ebay or something. :thinking:

So categories:

Recordings (CD, DVD), gadgets (like phone cases etc), clothing (male, female) and artworks.

That I think are basics :) But as I already said, maybe fan art category? Or place where we can submit our offers/things we're looking for.

I just registered and a very old pic of me has been set automatically :lol:

I disabled profile pics for now. I'm not sure how to make it set your own...

They are taken, apparently, from Gravatar or something else. I'm not sure... It's a generic avatar template thing that does that..

 

About funds...I really don't want to have advertisements all over the place. It just doesn't look good. We'll see, though. It will also depend on traffic and stuff.

 

Anyway, so..yeah! I hope people start using it!

Oooh, looks really neat! I've registered, and would even like to sell a thing, but not sure how to deal with PayPal. (Also, the thing's sort of lame)

la.cri.mosa, I fear paypal does not operate fully (not all functions are available) in Lithuania. But you can chose your own method of payment, if I understood it right.

^ No, I think it adapted enough to carry out selling stuff. It's just the account is my mum's (though I manage it for her anyway) :D

The way it works is like craigslist, where a user who wants something has to contact you (send you a pm, email, or, if you choose to give it to them, a phone number.) So, it doesn't need to be paypal.
