I've just realised...

Why so sad?

If you feel like visiting here, you just do. And if your life is filled with other things, you wait untill there is enough need to visit again.

Keep in touch with the ones you will miss the most in another way while you're gone and don't feel sad for the things gone by. Other things will fill in 'the gap'.

The thing wich I am so amazed by, is how quicly visitting this forum can become an addiction...:embarrassed:

Is that how / why you feel this?

The thing is, recently I feel like I've been visiting here without really contributing anything. The place seems to be less interesting lately, even with the recent buzz of activity surrounding the Atlas release I don't feel like there's much reason for me to stay here, yet I keep logging in just... for the sake of being here. I don't know if this is linked to recent events, people talking about leaving, people saying this place is going downhill as of late and whatnot... Maybe I should give this place a break for a bit and then hope things are more exciting in a few months, maybe when there's a new Coldplay album out

are you sure the lounge will be extra exciting when the new album is out?

Well the lounge specifically might not be, but the site in general probably will. And who knows, maybe there will be new members who will help liven this place up a bit. Or maybe even older members coming back. (unlikely, but you never know)

Listen, James. I've been around here for over 4 1/2 years now. This coming February will make 5. I don't say nearly as much now as I used to. (I was much more of a spammer back in those days.) I don't know if it's necessarily like this for you, but for me, the big reason I stick around is the sense of community this forum has. I've met some wonderful people through this forum, and while some have left, some have stayed, and others have arrived. I guess, in a way, this forum is as close to an Internet home as it gets, and once you find home, it's a place you never truly leave.

I agree about the sense of community and meeting great people, and of course I still want to be a part of that community, but it feels like now would be a good time to have a bit of a break and then come back fresh. I'm going to uni soon so I probably will be around here less anyway.

Well then what's the problem? I've been around here since 2008, wasting my time, read threads occasionally and then leave again. Nobody gives a crap dude :cheesy: do your real life things and don't worry about some forum of some band.

Well, sure. I'm sure a lot of us have taken breaks from here over time. I've had my fair share of days when I just quickly drop in and check a few things before I leave without saying anything. It's all relative to what's going on in your personal life and the amount of attachment you have to the forum and the people in it, among other things. If you feel like you need a break, then by all means take one. We'll all understand. :nice:
