The biblical epic stars Christian Bale as Moses, who rises up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton) to lead the Israelite slaves to freedom.

he latest teaser for Ridley Scott's blockbuster, which features Coldplay track 'Midnight', also offers a further glimpse of the Ten Plagues descending on Egypt.

Scott is reunited with his Alien star Sigourney Weaver on the film, while Ben Kingsley, Aaron Paul and John Turturro are also among the supporting cast.

Steven Zaillian, who penned American Gangster and Hannibal for Scott, is the screenwriter on the project.

Exodus: Gods and Kings opens in US cinemas on December 12 and December 26 in the UK.

Just found out about the song being featured when I stumbled on this article today. The song sounds grand & fantastic as a soundtrack, unlike the movie trailer which looks pretty lame :dozey:

I'm laughing my butt off because none of the main characters in this movie is black.

Why should they be black? Both Egyptians & Hebrews at the time are Semitic.

I am really wondering why Ramsis was bald..lol

Because NONE of them are black, and the mummies they found in the region the movie plays in were mostly black

Not sure what mummies you are talking about  The mummy of Ramsis II surely wasn't. Both were Semitic, dark skinned maybe, but not black..

Anyway, we are drifting from the subject, which is how good Midnight sounds in the background :awseome: I wonder if anyone who isn't familiar with the whole Coldplay discography can identify it as a Coldplay song listening to that bit on the trailer. It really sounds very different from all their songs..

I was SHOCKED the first time I saw the trailer  I was at the cinema, about to enjoy a nice movie when suddenly, a wild Coldplay song appeared  It was so unexpected

"Men, women, and even the children of ancient Egypt all shaved their heads bald and wore elaborate specially-made wigs, which were preferred over a natural head of hair for ultimate protection from the sun's harmful solar rays." - http://www.moderngent.com/history_of_shaving/history_of_shaving.php
