  1. People are taking this track way too seriously. I like it, but in a more ironic way. This is a hidden track, it's supposed to have a fun/surprise element to it. To me it nicely envelops the theme of the album: trying to make your dreams come true. Maybe making this kind of track was always a little dream of theirs, and I'm sure the whole band is aware that it's more fun than cool.

This was SUCH a great live version. What a great song, I love it even more now.
  3. People are absolutely entitled to their opinion, but an overwhelming amount of negativity surrounding this latest album makes me want to take a break from this forum and just enjoy the album. I actually like this album and can't wait to see them perform it live in Copenhagen next year. So see you in around 300 plays. :P
  4. This! That's totally where I get that "suppressed energy" vibe from. This song makes me happy and energetic/dancy and relaxed at the same time! :D
  5. Ah ok. Sorry. I do agree that the audio quality doesn't really take away from the quality of the song itself. But to me at least it's a pretty big part of the listening experience. I simply can't truly enjoy music played on bad equipment or ripped from some low quality source such as YouTube. I don't know if I'm an audiophile but when I listen to music I find myself listening to the audio just as much as the music itself.
  6. There's not really anything wrong with the sound quality on AHFOD if that's what you're referring to? Maybe some recording or production aspects are different from other CP albums but that's not the same thing.
  7. I think this is the coolest song Coldplay has ever made. I like it!
  8. I think this is my favorite off AHFOD. It has such a great suppressed energy - it's a really cool song, listening to it makes me really happy. Love the way it ends.
  9. The first date was sold out in 35 minutes! This is 35-40.000 tickets! I got tickets four for that one in pre sale. Now I also have four for the other date - I'm going with both days with two different sets of people. :D

Can't wait. Tove Lo has a very cool voice, bet it sounds awesome in combination with Chris'.

This crying at new Coldplay songs must stop for me. Amazing Day, Up&Up and now this. Such beautiful songs they left me crying in no time.
  12. To be fair, I believe it was said that it shared the same tempo as Violet Hill.
  13. That will be a seriously long track,
  14. I agree. Makes much more sense.
  15. theprospekt replied to getithom's topic in Up&Up
Up&Up would have to become the longest track Coldplay has released, right? The song it self is like 7 minutes long at least, and then followed by X Marks The Spot which could be what, at least 2 minutes. So a 9 minute (at least!) Coldplay track. That's pretty awesome.
  16. Two great moments in Up&Up: Chris smiling at the lyric "trying to empty the ocean with a spoon". And the look on Chris face during the two solos. You can tell he truly loves it.
  17. In the TIDAL app you can search for Coldplay, tap "more videos" and then near the bottom there is a video titled "TIDAL X Coldplay". BUT it's some 20 second clip from a metal concert. Either it's a bad joke or just a mistake?
  18. I absolutely love all the 4 and a bit songs we've heard so far! AOAL really grew on me and I love it. Same goes for Amazing Day where live versions after the first one has really sold me on it. But man, the AHFOD title song and Up&Up. First of all AHFOD, what a great opener! I'd never heard it before and I was like yeah this is awesome! And the band including Chris performed great! And then Up&Up. What a beautiful intro to that song. "We've been waiting 15 years to make this one." What a song! I loved everything about it. Chris' singing and lyrics, the choir, the double guitar solo. Of course I'd never heard this one before either but it immediately made me cry. No Coldplay song ever made me cry on first listen. This is a very strong closer to the album imho. Also, the audio quality from the stream was top notch. Seems like the whole super high fidelity thing doesn't only apply to the music.
  19. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
  20. Tonight was a prime example that Chris hasn't actually "lost" any singing ability. It's just that jumping, running and dancing doesn't help. Tonight was a truly special performance, and Chris' singing was the best I've ever heard from him. Sparks, the Birds snippet and Dreamer were highlights in particular. His voice sounded so powerful. Truly beautiful.
  21. Seems like the album is somewhere between 40 and 45 minutes long? Probably not as low as 40 though. Maybe they're aiming for the 42 minute rule.
  22. It's not that I'd never get tired of listening to it on repeat. I don't usually do this with new CP songs, and feel the same way as you when other people say they've listened to a song half a million times in three days. But this one really hits the right spot with me. I've been basically addicted to it since it came out. But I'm sure after I get tired of listening to it all the time I'll still love to listen to it occasionally like other good CP songs.
  23. Don't know what it is about this song but even though I wasn't super psyched about it on first listen I've become completely addicted to it! I've basically been listening on repeat since it came out.
