Chris Martin will lend a hand to his good pal, Bob Geldof once again as Band Aid 30 (based from the UK) will unite many of the big names in music for the re-recording of Do They Know It’s Christmas? This time, the 30th anniversary of the Band Aid track will feature not the Phil Collins, Paul Weller and George Michael

but our very own Chris Martin alongside the likes of Ed Sheeran, One Direction and Emeli Sande. The cause this time round is to fight the globally emerging virus which has spread from West Africa, Ebola.

The music industry is certainly a different beast altogether from 30 years ago and the sales from back then are unlikely to be emulated again but the global exposure of Band Aid is set to increase like never before, with a plethora of Facebook shares and Twitter re-tweets been a new measure of success in tandem with donations, partly raised by sales of this decades re-make for the very important cause of fighting Ebola.

Band Aid 30 will be heard for the first time next Monday, 17th November and will feature Chris Martin within the official video, which is expected to be online upon airing. The release date of the single/physical copy is unknown but it’s likely to be the Christmas Number One single (in the UK) like 10 years ago so December 15th in all probability! The curly locked Chris Martin of 2004 introduced the charity Christmas song as you can relive again below :

The new Band Aid 30 song and music video will debut on The X Factor results show this Sunday night, just hours after it’s recorded.

Bob Geldof and Midge Ure are reviving their 1984 hit, "Do They Know It's Christmas?" to help fight Ebola in West Africa, and will be changing the lyrics to fit with the current crisis.

Many of pop music's biggest names are uniting for the song, including One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, Sam Smith and Coldplay.

U2's Bono has also been confirmed for the track and will most likely be singing his famous (and somewhat morally dubious) line "Tonight thank God it's them, instead of you".

An official app will allow fans to follow the Band Aid 30 recording session live from Sarm Studios in London and the footage will help create the video.

The single will be available from iTunes at 8am on Monday 17 November, after the video airs on Simon Cowell's talent show the evening before. To ensure that maximum funds are raised for charity, it will not be available to stream on Spotify until January.

Geldof confirmed the new version at a London press conference last week, during which he described Ebola as "a pernicious illness which renders people untouchable".

"This is the worst kept secret in the world," he said. "We will reconvene nearly 30 years to the day [of the first song's release].

"Three weeks ago I got a call from the UN saying they required a 20 per cent increase across the board. They are very concerned about the situation in West Africa.

"We called up some giants and they said they would come again to the party."

Geldof added that he and singer Midge Ure felt they had a duty to raise money with sales from the single, which will feature an album cover designed by Tracey Emin.

"[ure] and I both feel, the Irishman and Scotsman, should gather the pop crow together again and do our thing," he said.

"It really doesn't matter if you hate this song or you don't like this song, you have to buy this thing."

Saturday's recording session will take place at the Sarm studios in west London, the same venue where stars like Wham!, Duran Duran, Sting and Status Quo recorded the original in 1984.

This time, fans will be able to follow the recording session on an official app, which will stream live footage from the studio.

No doubt it will premiere later on in the show to boost their ratings!

Awwww Chris I love you forever!

Just saw it, I felt so miserable seeing the first few seconds. How sad it is Ebola spreading all over the place now. The song was greatly produced. Im glad there were my favorite singers too like Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Bono :D

It was amazing. Awaiting on a higher quality version now :)
