Ghostface and MF Doom to drop joint album in February

In a new interview with Let’s Link Radio, the Wu Tang veteran claims that his long-anticipated joint album with DOOM will be released in February. “I talked to DOOM’s people. DOOM is ready now,” states Ghostface. “He’s been had the material, so he said he wants to drop that in February.” Last we heard, the album was going to be called DOOMSTARKS whether that’s still the case is unsure.

As well as that album, Ghostface says that he’s finishing the sequel to his classic Supreme Clientele: “To all real rap heads, that’s gonna be a monster. I’m proud of that project. I just hope every sample gets cleared. And then they’ll see what I’m talking about.”

Chairlift Detail New Album Moth

Chairlift have detailed their new album Moth. It's out January 22 via Columbia Records, and includes the previously released singles "Ch-Ching" and "Romeo". Speaking to Pitchfork about the album, the band's Caroline Polachek said:

Moths aren't something you really see in New York City. You don't see them very often, at least, but we liked the idea of the moth as a metaphor for vulnerability, for something that’s fragile but relentless at the same time. It goes towards the light; it beats its wings until it dies. There are risks everywhere, but it doesn’t question them. So for us, that was sort of the attitude for the music: something really beautiful, vulnerable, honest.

LCD Soundsystem to Release New Album This Year, James Murphy Explains Reunion

LCD Soundsystem are 100% back. Following yesterday's confirmation of the band's Coachella headlining spot, James Murphy has posted a lengthy note to the band's website detailing their return. He confirmed that the band will tour beyond Coachella, and that they plan to release a new record in 2016. He also addressed the fans who "feel betrayed by us coming back and playing," which he said he hadn’t thought about after "clearly" anticipating a more cynical response. "if you cared a lot about our band, and you put a lot of yourself into that moment (or anything about us you chose), and you feel betrayed now, then i completely understand that," he wrote. "to you i have to say: i’m seriously sorry. the only thing we can do now is get back into the studio and finish this record, and make it as fucking good as we can possibly make it."
