🌙 COLDPLAY ANNOUNCE MOON MUSIC OUT OCTOBER 4TH 🎵

Prospekt's March E.P - An Honest Review

Recommended Posts

I've been an avid fan of Coldplay since the very beginning, but never did I think they would become something too beautiful for words. Truly, if you haven't heard any of their music after X&Y, you really need to!

As a musician, I've found both Viva La Vida and Prospekt's March to be absolutely fantastic albums.

As for most of the new tracks on Prospekt's March, well, they're not new. They're in fact left-overs from Viva La Vida (ODAAHF). These songs have unfortunately been left to the depths of history and have since never been heard again.

1. Life in Technicolor ii: Has lyrics; Most definitely better than the original. Why this version wasn't the only version is a mystery to me.

2. Postcards from Far Away: A VERY short(46 Secs!) piano piece, but has a nice tone to its sound. It actually reminds you of a connection from a far distance.

3. Glass of Water: Great. Reminds me of their older X&Y era songs. The chorus buildup is fantastic.

4. Rainy Day: Notable for its use of orchestral strings in the chorus. Varied. It's like a ton of songs are happening at once in the same song, all with the same melody. At first, it starts with a short piano melody then turns into a pop/rock song, then into an orchestral melody. The lyrics go well, but are sometimes misunderstandable. (This is my favorite song on this CD!, or by Coldplay for that matter.....)

5. Prospekt's March/Poppyfields: A very good guitar, synth, and vocal piece.

6. Lost+: Ok, Look; It is the same as Lost, with Jay-Z rapping over it instead of that great guitar solo; While it doesn't sound horrible, it is bearable.. Good effort by them to collaborate, though.

7. Lovers in Japan (Osaka Sun Mix): Lovers in Japan without Reign of Love at the end. NOTE: this song was mastered differently, as Chris's voice is further from you and the instruments closer.

8. Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground: Somewhat reminiscent of Til Kingdom Come, but still an amazing song nonetheless. A good finish for this EP.

Overall, it's not a completely different album, but It's a great addition to any Coldplayer's library.

I would recommend this.

Nice review, I love this EP overall. I didn't know that Lovers in Japan was a slightly different version from the one in VLV.

Also for some reason people like to hate on Rainy Day, but I like it.

Probably VLV. You can probably expect it tomorrow at around the same time, as i am tired, and don't really feel like writing it right now.

That's fine, take your time :)

Who knows, I might just make an "Honest Review" series!

I would appreciate that, too!

don't forget the WOOOOOOOO!s after the first chorus

that's the easiest way for me to tell the difference between the two versions without looking at which one it is :P
