Does the first part of the Matrix play in a particular city like New York or just any American city?

So... I really donť know...

I heard this, too.

I think I heard somebody say that they took pains to not have any indentifiable landmarks so that it's just a generic metropolis. They wanted to have a feel of everybody assimilated into a bigger, self-contained idea (a modern city) but they didn't want to limit it to any one space.

if you mean is the 1st matrix about NYC or any other american city the answer could be it`s about the world. the fact that we live in a computer programme.

i`m trying to find some pix. here you can see the buildings look more LA than NYC.

americans film a lot of movies in toronto .....maybe.....idunno

i can`t find a pic where i could see the panorama (i hope i used the right word) of the city but i found this and in this office there`s a pic of probably the city they`re in. can`t figure what city it is. might be chicago
