The current webhosts only allow 100Mb of server space for mySQL (what is required to create messageboards). Moving the site to its own server will raise this limit to an 'infinate' level, in theory.

 

All this means that we won't have to delete any posts to create space, we can also put the search facility back in (which is the biggest use of space) and the best part of it is that the board will be noticeably faster and won't have to compete with any other websites using the same server.

Given the size and activity of the board, I'm relatively surprised you haven't hit 100Mb before.

we did hit 100Mb about 6 months ago, but we've done well to hide it :D
