A little expensive though, the lake district is near Manchester and is one of the most beatiful places on earth. Manchester is a very comospoloton place. You will find the people have a great deal of civic pride and have a great love for their music. You will have to visit the urbis musem which has a exhibation of Manchester music. I was so embarrased with myself when I went to barcelona that I could not speak Spanish. I mainly relied upon Iconic gestures. And noni to help me out !
