Do We Think They'll Do Anything Different?

Featured Replies

So, Coldplay have just started playing at Wembley. So far, their setlist seems to be the same as it usually is... practically the exact same as it was three years ago when I last saw them at Wembley! I'm seeing them twice at Wembley in the coming weeks, the first time being Sunday 31st August. I have optimism that they'll completely mix things up, based on the amazing soundchecks they've been doing before previous concerts, but the setlists for the past couple of Wembley concerts leave me doubtful

With Hull, their setlist appeared to be the same but they at least played Speed Of Sound which was a nice surprise. However... they soundchecked this song a good few times in previous concerts, and this so happened to find its way into a live concert. Why else would they soundcheck this song a couple of times if they weren't going to perform it, which they did?!

I'm just wondering, do we reckon they'll do something completely different a few nights into their Coldplay residency? My thoughts are that they're doing a very "normal' setlist for the first few nights, almost as a warm up before they do something different. Bear in mind that they played songs such as Coloratura, iAAM and DAAHF in the same soundchecks as Speed Of Sound.... so do we reckon that they could potentially do something a bit different a few nights i when they've warmed up to Wembley?

Let us know your thoughts below!

I 'm also going to Wembley on the 31st and frankly I'm a little disappointed in them. Apart from a few Moon Music songs the set list is very much the same from 3 years ago. I really don't understand why you would do a "record breaking" 10 nights at Wembley without offering the audience something a little different and changing it up a bit. We still haven't had IAAM live which I still can't get my head around, Jupiter or One World, they could do something with "Shine On" that they were dropping hints on nearly a year ago and have sound checked M.u.s.i.c which could be a great surprise for everyone.

i'm struggling to see how they can keep this format going for 360 performances, it is far to "samey" and even they must be getting a little tired of it after 220 odd performances. I'm actually beginning to think that 360 must refer to The Sphere in Las Vegas, I can't believe they'll keep this up for 2 more years...

There is something peculiar going on.. The first show in Wembley they've played Trouble and Don't Panic, the second show Green Eyes, Politik and In My Place, the third Til Kingdom Come, Speed of Sound and The Hardest Part. You get it? So on so forth. Now show 8 was Everyday Life day with Arabesque, EL and Bani Adam. I'm so curious about the 10th show on 12 september...

Yes, it's clear they're doing an album per night for Wembley. I hypothesised as much after the first couple of nights and it turned out to be true. I was there for the Ghost Stories and AHFOD nights. For the last night I reckon they'll play iAAM for the first time in the place of Charlie Brown/Politik, and maybe Jupiter will make its debut on the C-stage

Well, you were almost right. I think they could/should have changed a bit more, but...🤷‍♂️
