Ya, I'm going to ask for one of them for my birthday since they're pretty expensive and I don't have enough money to buy one myself haha.

 

My friend got chemical straightening done and her hair turned out really well. But you know what sounds really good but is uber expensive? Japanese Thermal Reconditioning. I think a lot of the celebrities get it done, and it doesn't sound as damaging as other chemical straighteners. But I'm not sure though...I don't know too much about it.

 

I had my hair chemically straightened for a wedding once. It worked really well at first but i found that it kinda killed my hair, particularly my ends got really dry. A whole lot of conditioner was needed afterwards.

 

Michella, I've heard of that Japanese Thermal Reconditioning process. Apparently it makes your hair like, baby soft! I want baby soft hair! :stunned:

I usually blow dry it really well as straight as I can and then go over it with a flat iron. Definately apply those shining solutions on your hair afterwards, they create less frizz, shine the hair and make it soft. The key is to get out all of the moisture when your blow dry it. If any moisture is in your hair if it is like mind tends to wave up a bit. Again I only have wavy hair not really curly hair so I guess it also depends on how curly your hair is.

But I have been using "Rusk shining" after/during the flattening process and that helps a lot.

I got my hair chemically straightened after I got a perm and wanted to go back to straighter hair. It worked, but it didn't completely straighten out the hair.

 

I've never used a real iron, that would interesting to try!

I use Thermasilk's Control and Condition Cream and they're anti-frizz hydrating cream. I alternate every day. :cool:

I went to get my haircut this weekend and the hairdresser was using a $149 flatiron, I was going to buy it, but then hesitated. She said they have ones that say "rusk" on them which are identical and $199.

 

I did however buy a Aveda smoothing finishing creme to put in after I style my hair, it was $28 for a teeny bottle.

My friend recently bought a Vidal Sassoon ceramic straightener for $70 canadian. She bought it in the states, i think.

Hey all...I either use my blow dryer to straighten mine (which is wavy btw) or I use my ceramic straightener. when i blow dry i spray a leave-in conditioner on my wet hair (infusium) then i put on this stuff called "Straighten Out" by Bed Head. Then I blow dry using a metal round brush since i sometimes give the ends a "flip." When I'm done I usually put on this stuff called Afterparty by Bed Head, which just controls fly-aways and stuff. Plus it leaves my hair really soft and the stuff smells good. I just started using the leave-in treatment because I want to be sure my hair doesn't dry out and stuff from blow drying.

When I straighten with the ceramic I just put the afterparty stuff on afterward, that's pretty much it. :D

it takes way too long to get my hair straight. i don't have the patience to waste an hour of my life.

what do they look like?

they're just like silk scarves that you can wrap your head in...or you can fold them and turn them into bands that conceal the front part of your hair..that's what i do most of the time.
