February 23, 200323 yr I think Coldplay are going to steal the show. Although what do you think of this, from muchmusic.com "Grammy Award Censorship? According to The Drudge Report, CBS will be taking a hard-line approach to political commentary from stars at the Grammy Awards this Sunday. The website says that network execs are concerned by rumours that one star is planning a dramatic anti-war statement at the awards. An unnamed CBS executive is quoted as saying that microphones might be unplugged if performances turn political."
February 23, 200323 yr Author i was thinking about that too....because i see that's the only reason why they've decided to play politik...because of whats going on...and you know how chris always says stuff about bush...i'm going to be really pissed off if they cut it because of any crap like that...america knows there is a such thing as freedom of speech, and it is just a little ol' song. i just hope chris doesnt plan to say any comments like he did at the brit awards...he is a part of this world and what we do will effect the rest of the world. so he does have a say, but i dont think he should talk about our president like that. to be a president it does take an educated person, and what they do has to be thought of logically...they just dont think about it for a second and say oh lets just go to war..fuck it. I'm sure whatever bush plans to do will be thought about. I'm not trying to protect the president in anyway, I hate him and his choices, and I think he's the wrong president to be here for the united states at this time...I still can't believe Coldplay is coming out more political than ever. At times when I think about it...I really dont see how they fit into being there for politics. of course i'm just in it for the music, all this entertains me, I dont want it to be something that pisses me off or makes me not like it anymore. i'll shut up now
February 23, 200323 yr *hugs Ginger* I completely agree with everything you've said. I think they are crossing the line. Before their political position was justified but I think it is getting a little too far, especially (like you said) what I heard what Chris said at the Brit awards. I just hope he doesn't do something stupid, they are doing so well right now it would be a real shame if it gets fucked up.
February 23, 200323 yr Author thank you...very much *hugs* i don't know what's wrong with me, but i've just been pouring my heart out these past hours. i dont know if i'm just too awake, or need some sleep, or just really thinking. but its cool and i like it!! hehe 8) :D
February 23, 200323 yr Yep, it's Tom. I feel at home already. :D "British quartet Coldplay have enjoyed a number of rushes this year with the phenomenal success of their sophomore effort, A Rush Of Blood To The Head. That strong effort garnered them two GRAMMY nominations this year — one for Best Alternative Album and one for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals ("In My Place" is the album's nominated track). At Saturday morning rehearsals, Coldplay showed just how big a sound they can make when they ran through their song "Politik" with the majestic, orchestral backing of the 86-piece New York Philharmonic, who were led by the baton of GRAMMY-winning composer/arranger Michael Kamen. The grand sound of this large-scale collaboration was entirely effective, and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin was all smiles at rehearsal's end. While the orchestra was on stage, they also rehearsed with conductor David Robinson their own bit of GRAMMY night performance spotlight — the "Mambo" section of Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story. The Philharmonic will also receive some extra GRAMMY week recognition: Saturday night the venerable organization will be honored by the Recording Academy with a 2003 Trustees Award." Had to post that. Sounds great.... does anyone know when the grammy's are on the telly? :? That sounds really wicked. I wanna know when its on telly too :|

Sorry for the ignorance, but what did he say at the Brit awards? :/i might not be totally right, but it was something like this: "We think this is great, although awards are essentially nonsense. We are all going to die when George Bush gets his way - but it's great to go out with a bang,"
