Hi, I'd like to propose the thread "Don't Let It Break Your Heart" by @Little Miss Coldplay as Best Thread of 2016 – General Discussion Area Section. This thread helped lots of people (me included) to have someone to listen to their problems and share the heartbreaks and ups and downs of life with each other. I'd also appreciate if, in case you liked or were even involved in the I Ran Away Project, you'd give it a consideration for Best Thread of 2016 - Coldplay section. Thanks ! :heart:

I think I understood a Coldplay line I hadn't really grasped for the first time today. Sorry, long post ahead ! See, I have this difficult person in my life who I really care a lot about, but who always causes me pain because this person carelessly tramples on people's feelings including mine and always picks fights with me... After another pointless conflict yesterday (worst NYE ever, thanks a lot for that final kick, 2016) that fortunately got resolved today, I thought: what if next time a conflict arises, you just react paradoxically. Instead being in the role of the antagonist to this person and hence reacting in a predictable way, just react with the opposite: by staying calm and showing love, such as smiling, giving a hug or something. I know that takes a lot of self-restraint if the other person provokes you, but I am sure this attitude can be learned. And maybe eventually this reaction will leave an impression on the other person and calm down this person too. And as I thought about my new strategy, I suddenly thought of that line: "My heart is my gun." I didn't like this line from Army of One before because I think I misinterpreted it and it sounded a bit violent to me, but today I think I first grasped what Chris meant to say. You can actually fight back by showing and giving love and kindness. My heart is my gun.

Yeah right, that's really amazing that it's X&Y. When I went to the shows last spring and summer I always had a booklet of X&Y with me to have it signed in case I got to meet the band somehow, because it has the strongest personal meaning for me. Well, maybe I should take this booklet with me from now on and see if I can complete the missing 2 out of 4 within my lifetime :)
