  1. I'd be with you there if it weren't for that fact that Coldplay HQ has, from what I heard, specifically asked Coldplaying to enforce a policy of zero leak tolerance. That's what makes me doubt it was intentional.
  2. Yeah same...and guess which Producer duo is responsible for this again  Somehow I feel like this was an AHFOD Era leftover. cause I'm Pretty sure they didn't call Stargate up again to work with them on precisely one song. It also doesn't fit lyrically with the rest of the album.
  3. I edited my post because I think it's 6 actually :D
  4. And please do not forget the baby that AROBTTH and X&Y made together...Champion of the World ! :D
  5. Someone on the leak thread asked if this was Crazy Frog doing backing vocals :joy: :joy: :joy:
  6. Actually, the language count is at 6 by the end of the album: English Arabic (Church) unknown African (?) language (Trouble in Town) French (Arabesque) Spanish (When I Need A Friend) Persian (Bani Adam) unknown language (Bani Adam/Champion of the World) - can anyone figure out what that language is ?
  7. For sure ! Although have to say Guns was a bit of a letdown for me - great guitar and great verses but the chorus sounds so demo-y and unfinished...
  8. Arabesque is from a jam session the band did when Brian Eno had Chris leave the studio for 2 weeks. This is what we know so far, but probably other song parts are coming from there as well. I actually submitted that question to the bandfor the fan Q&A, I hope it gets picked !
  9. Day 2: this album is a strange mix of weaker moments (all those unfinished, demo-y, Chris-only or Chris + backing singers songs) and absolute masterpieces (Champion of the World, Trouble in Town, Arabesque, Everyday Life) with some good but not outstanding songs thrown in (Daddy, Sunrise,...) And for those masterpieces alone the album is worth listening.
  10. I'll say this much...not all of the album might be for everyone but there are quite a number of masterpieces in there, so you're in for a treat come November 22 ! Also, I think both Oldplayers and Newplayers will see some of their wishes fulfilled ;)
  11. Insightful article from Nicola Martin: https://graziadaily.co.uk/life/real-life/chris-martin-sister-superstar/
  12. Thanks. I checked them out but a lot of them are unfortunately wrong, also on COTW.
  13. Same. The strange vocal tone in addition to the cringey lyrics ("I worship in your church, babe, all day :D) really threw me off. It also doesn't really tie in lyrically with the rest of the album imho. Also agree that BrokEn definitely does not feel right where it is in the tracklisting. In fact, I'm not a fan and would have scrapped it althogether. I'm glad you love Champion of the World as much as I do :D
  14. Oh wow. OK, here's a new one: "I think I'm getting sick"
  15. Agree with that. Some of the songs sound as if they were not made with a lot of effort, and that is a shame considering how perfectionist the band used to be. But hey, I'll take this over AHFOD anytime !
  16. For all the good songs that are on it, I have to say I don't see myself listening to it as a full album very often. For that it just feels too little cohesive to me and there are some tracks like BrokEn or Cry Cry Cry that I just dislike (I'm sorry to say). The album is VERY experimental and diverse in style and while i commend Coldplay for that, not all songs have quite met the mark so to speak. But so far I only listened to it 1,5 times and maybe it'll grow on me. Can't stop listening to Champion of the World though. This is what I've been wishing Coldplay to sound like in so long.
  17. That was my thought exactly !! I LOVE this track!
  18. Yup, same. Also the lyrics are a bit cringey - from what I heard: I worship in your church, babe All day I worship in your church All seven days I praise and praise :D
  19. The lyrics certainly are worth examining as well. Didn't catch them all by listening, but they have a darker and lighter side to them (mountainside suicide....and then into the universe with no parachute)
  20. I support leeks of all kind
