  1. Interesting article. I had no idea that Chris's vocals on All Good Things Come To An End by Nelly Furtado were supposedly scrapped at the request of Parlophone ?!
  2. Yes, sorry. I got it wrong
  3. I agree but what I meant was, at first I was worried when I heard about the producers but in the end the worries were unfounded.
  4. I thought the same today :D :D
  5. I'm not saying that per se. Viva La Vida for example is a great song and very popular and has a sing-along. I guess it all comes down to taste. Orphans just didn't strike me as a great song or a particular noteworthy instrumental. And the woo-woos keep getting more and more out of place in Coldplay Songs as the years pass, imho.
  6. To be fair, Timbaland did production on Everyday Life (the track) and apart from the guitar being too low in the mix the production of this song is great.
  7. An interview of today with Chris (unfortunately, I can't get the video to work from inside the EU. Not even a VPN helped !) https://www.radio.com/music/alternative/chris-martin-of-coldplay-on-the-meaning-behind-orphans
  8. I know this is wishful thinking, but I wouldn't mind a Coldplay album that is entirely guitar/piano rock. The emphasis being on ROCK. But didn't they say in the AHFOD Era that they think rock has nowhere left to go ?
  9. A bit worried now to be honest since I heard that according to Chris Orphans was supposed to be on LP9, the album that will probably get a big world tour. This makes me fear for the quality of LP9. I worry it'll be like AHFOD all over again.
  10. I wouldn't call GS experimental, but it does seem they are trying to repeat that structure in a way. Hm, I'm afraid in my ears it does not bode well for the quality LP9...then again, Everyday Life looks like it will be better than GS, so who knows….
  11. Welcome back to Coldplaying !
  12. I know, but this website is not accessible in the EU I was hoping someone might have the Audio/Video file o_O
  13. Does someone have the full interview Chris did with Radio.com today ? I'd love to listen to it but whenever I try to access the Website it's down. Would appreciate if someone could share it thanks ! Cause apparently Chris said something about Oprhans having supposed to have been on LP9. I would like to hear the direct quote...
  14. Oh dear. That makes me worry about the sound of LP9, and LP9 will be the album that gets the big tour...yikes.
  15. Where do you have this from ? And if this is true yes, it is a bummer that we already heard the two longest songs. Disappointed that many songs are so short. So Daddy is not a voice memo after all ?
  16. I think it is actually cleverly done because the line is "The judgment of this court is...we need more guns" - it plays with irony and absurdity. Saying it in your face would be "We need less guns."
  17. where do you have that info from ?
  18. That would be amazing but I doubt it would happen :D
  19. Just out of curiosity, did you not like AICTAIY, ALIENS and Hypnotised ? For me Kaleidoscope EP was the first post-2009 Coldplay release that could truly identify with.
  20. Commercially viable for sure, and that word "commercial" is the key. Of course it's good for sales, but I was talking about Coldplay not showcasing their immense creativity and diversity to the general public. If I were a casual listener or just a random radio listener with no particular interest in Coldplay, I would probably think "uh, more of the same".
  21. I know, but if you look at casual listeners (all the people listening to Radio/TV for instance) Orphans is the single to have gotten the most airplay, a music Video, and a high-profile TV performance. Someone who does not follow Coldplay will never get to know Arabesque.
  22. I believe it's gonna be a shorter song., judging by the fast-paced vocals. I still find it unfortunate they chose Orphans as their lead single though. This album is so hugely diverse and creative and inventive and yet they choose the ONE song that continues the sound from AHFOD as the first (and probably only) song casual listeners will encounter on the radio this era. That's tragic,
  23. the tour that Chris and Guy said won't happen...otherwise I'd be with you in seeing a comeback of Politik. I'm still hoping for a few select concerts like with GS though !
  24. It is indeed something ! But tbh, I don't think I could personally rank it higher than Viva. I love the new material (minus Orphans), but I can't see being more attached to it than to Viva La Vida (the song), or Cemeteries of London, or Lovers in Japan, or Lost!...
