Hey, I did not judge. I was implying others might judge about the Coldplaying community that way. But I have already voiced my personal concern, so I guess that's all I wanted to do and so I'm out of that now. Indeed I can't do anything about the fact that other people like to talk about this stuff.

I recall they publicly said they were not aware that some of the sayings they used were from Goeebels, because they "didn't look through history books before writing their songs". Of course they are not using the most obvious or infamous ones for which you might be pursued, but I've had a look at a couple of their texts after I read about them in the news a few years ago (when there was a big controversy over their nomination for an ECHO, which caused two other artists to pull out of the event back then...) and they quite often sing about their love for German "values" as opposed to foreigners. Their lead singer used to be a skinhead and wrote lines about how "niggers and Yugos" were scum that becomes sedatory in Germany and other ugly stuff. They may be less overtly right-wing now than they used to be, but their background is clear...

That seals it then. Nothing in my area before July 30 and that is exactly the date my visa expires ;(

Nice ! :D Wouldn't have thought that ! And I've never seen all the Coldplay kids together. However, as a German I have to say I am disgusted, not so say ashamed at ECHO's decision to award the extreme-right band Frei.Wild as the best national alternative rock band. This band has been known for their nationalistic and xenophobic lyrics as well as use of Goebbels sayings in their songs.

Well, the ultimate Newplaying thread copied my first post word by word and modified the key words, a clear sign of mockery/parody. This thread copied the title. I am not complaining (they say copying is the highest form of flattery ;)), I am just reminding people that this is true.

I have nothing against looking at normal pictures of Chris or other people, in fact, I have a picture of Chris singing as my own avatar here. All I argued against is the abundance of naked photos/photos trying to highlight private body parts and the discussion about these very things. And yes, these discussions do reflect back on the Coldplaying community to a certain extent, so I would argue that your point of visiting a porn site and then complaining about it's content not valid here. It is more as if you find a porn site as part of another site you are a member of and then arguing that you don't condone it, which I hereby did.

Look, it's none of my business, but to me it is shocking to see which path of infantile ans immature humor this thread has gone down again. I could provocatively ask, does nobody have any common decency/respect for Chris Martin left to view him like that ? I know I have said that before, but I think it is inappropriate for a fandom to post/discuss such things. You talk about the band possibly finding this, but imagine for a second Apple or Moses reading this stuff - even worse. I don't wanna offend anyone, and I know it's not my thread and like I said none of my business, but I just wanna give a thought-provoking impulse to everybody here to maybe reflect a little bit more on these things before posting them. After all it represents Coldplay fandom to a certain extent and I don't think this is the image that Coldplay fandom wants to be seen as, or is it ?

Yes, as a matter of fact I can recall at least one incident where a Nazi comparison was made by a Newplayer (I believe it was in the LP7 thread, but I'm not gonna dig for it now). I think the situation is already much calmer compared to the time when AHFOD came out. I think we all need to remind ourselves that the target of discussions should be music itself or the band itself or the band's behaviour etc. and NOT "the Oldplayers/the Newplayers", i.e., it is important not to target discussions at persons (ad hominem, as said above) but at the subject itself.

So I finally I was able to get off work at a halfway decent time today (7 pm)...spent more than an hour searching for a room in which I could record. In the end I snuck into our music department with the help of someone with an access card :D and just spent 3 hours doing various takes of I Ran Away. Unfortunately my worst fears are confirmed, I really am awful at singing....but I'm gonna cut this into a reference track now, hopefully it will be up either tomorrow or the day after ! I promise !

Yes, I agree. Chris's vocals in general are no longer outstanding as they used to be in earlier times, but pretty generic. It is almost as if he got a bit 'lazy' singing.

About the stars and other artwork, don't worry too much about having every line covered. I also intend to put in various different actual video footages (I really mean different things - but probably focusing more on abstract things, light, stars, reflections...hard to describe without seeing it) to keep up the rhythm and flow of the video, cause I think the video might get boring if it only consists of non-moving images.
