Yeah, I've noticed that this album seems to be AROBTTH's "poppier" alternative. Of course it's still definetely alternative rock, but the tracks themselves have gotten "bigger" and "poppier" with more layers and synths. Even in AROBTTH they got a little bit of a bigger sound. It was a step up in terms of how big the sound was from Parachutes. They've been going up and up since AROBTTH it seems. (even though I don't necessarily think you can call AROBTTH "pop", they were starting to gravitate towards that.)

Yeah, it kind of sucks because now Coldplay's up on stage with artists who are known as pop acts. This album was a really good throwback to the days of Coldplay where they'd never do that. Not to say I don't like either of their music because I definetely do like it, but I'd much rather for them to play a couple songs off this very album any day over them getting up on stage with Beyonce and Mars. Speaking of that, they play way not enough songs from their old days now! Masterpieces have been left behind that definetely deserve more recognition. And it just makes it worse, now that we know that the whole request thing was false... (or was it? Any updates on that? Because I'm still not entirely sure.)

One thing I could always do, just lay in my bed, open the window, look at the sky, and play TKC. Perfect song for that stuff. And right now, it's a perfect day too, relatively mild so I could open the window as well, and not one cloud in the sky. :)

I like "Halo" by Beyonce, there's a couple others that I can't remember the name of though. Mars writes some pretty good songs! "When I Was Your Man" and "Just The Way You Are" are songs that I love! "Count On Me" is a truly great song for me, it's not even too poppy!

The outro to this song is just amazing. Also the instrumentation in this one is mostly an acoustic guitar, with that added extra dimension to it as well. So peaceful. :)

I agree! Almost everyone doesn't like it and I don't know why! This is a nice relaxing way to finally, after this long long album, wrap it all up. Wait, so you like this song right? Then I have something you can do! I'll tell you at the end of the listening party :D

Til Kingdom Come... just such a perfect way to end this album. Just like you've on a loooong journey, and it's finally over. This is by far the most underrated song on X&Y. Like almost no one likes it, and I still can't get why!!!!!!

See how this song builds up? This song takes us back to the "crazy" side of things. I love the hectic outro to this.

Yeah, I now realize that they do a lot of different things with the drums in the background, and make them sound different. You have to pay attention to notice them, it helps to turn the volume up as with any X&Y song.

Twisted Logic. Another underrated one. I really like the intro especially. This song builds up and up, from this quiet part that picks up off SITS' outro and speeds thing's up a bit as we go along here.

The drums in this one are simple, yet so easy to go back and forth too. Overall, a nice song to sing along to. I feel this is even too short of a track. I like the Extended Version of this track.

I agree, this song is underrated! This feels like The Hardest Part in a way, just without the piano and repetitiveness. (Although this is repetitive, it works much better with a song like SITS.)

Swallowed in the Sea! I love the intro to this one, and how it builds up too. Definetely slows down in the second part of the album here. I feel that this album's length is great for me. I like that little guitar effect right there. Kinds of gives that sense that the album's wrapping up soon.

I find it, just like Viva la Vida but not as big a sound. Similar in that way though.
