I am currently listening to....
I like "My Friends" from it. I don't know about the rest, as I don't know the names at least of any others on the album :D They seem pretty cool, going to check them out sometime. Already know and love a few songs by them. Not really listening to it, but recently was playing in my head. I loved this song long ago when I was young playing it as the drummer on RB2. Now just yesterday after the longest time I got reminded of it's existance on satellite radio. A few days before interestingly enough I was wondering what the name of that song was that I liked by them... I really do like it btw. Great song.

Which song do you have stuck in your head right now?
And now it's 7 more likes than messages :D Not doing too bad! Right now "Spoonman" by Soundgarden is in my head. Not the typical song to get stuck in my head, I loved playing this as the drummer when I was young on Rock Band 2. Forgot about it after I stopped playing the game for a while, and just yesterday I got reminded of it once again on satellite radio :D And just a few days before I was wondering what that one song I liked by them was called... it is a really good song too. At least to me. :D

Let's sing a song!
are you sure it's that? On the Coldplay website for the lyrics it says "sometimes you'll feel"... (and yes, I'm ashamed of myself for having to look up the lyrics for these songs to play them here :D) So stayyyyyy dowwwwn

Fun, at a Coldplay concert :D

The Coldplay Domino
It sounds the opposite for me, to me it sounds very cold... interesting how we can hear the same thing but recieve such different vibes from it! :) But we can both agree that it's a very good song. I agree on Violet Hill. Death And All His Friends somewhat but not winter cold for me... Ghost Stories I agree with (I think everyone agrees here, it's so weird. AHFOD should have been released right before the summer, Ghost Stories should have been the one released in December. Not the other way round. :P) I don't associate Fun or Army Of One with cold. Well maybe Fun a little touch actually... I'll just find another way to link off of DAAHF: Prospekt's March/Poppyfields - "people burying their dead..."

What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
I agree, Up In Flames is still massively underrated in my eyes. As is the entirety of Mylo Xyloto. True that!! The whole song for me is purely amazing and the best part of me is near the ending where the strings build up and then lef go. I could imagine listening to the entire song in the lateish afternoon on a mainly sunny late September day (like today :D :D :D) with a bit of clouds in the sky building as they get more distant, under a tree in a forest in which trees have light green-yellow leaves, it's not too dense so I can actually see more of what's in the distance, near the top of a highish hill with a gentle slope down the way I'm looking, Insanely descriptive, I know. I've never actually seen this place yet but I would love to go to somewhere like it one day so I can listen to this song in that style, with the only technology near me being my phone to play music sometimes :D I attach a lot of these strong images, or at least colors or certain scenes with songs in my life. A lot of them typically tend to be nature scenes like these, I love the outdoors and is such a good place for listening to Coldplay, especially calm and beautiful songs like U.F.O. :D

Random Coldplay thoughts...
First of all, thank both of you for replying to something that I wouldn't have known about had it not been for the both of you: It was of the video of that skit thing, I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about :) It was funny, really enjoyed it and without the both of you I'd have no idea it ever existed :laugh4: LeftrightleftArchi, your quote's in red. diogo_sg, your quote's in blue. Sonny, your quote's in gold. coldplayer4288, your quote's in green. Nie, your quote's in magenta. ChrisMartinFan, your quote's in orange. [spoiler=Quotes] What?! How did I miss this before? It was like 4 pages back... this is gold! This is what I thanked the two people who replied to this for, so I'd get to see this :D True, but if I were to ever be woken up it would be cool to be woken up by Mylo. :D Lol I didn't even get what "Justin" meant until I read the description... haha this is too good :D But I mean, ever since around the time this was uploaded he's started to get into pop acts like those. We can't just say "oh, 2011 and on Coldplay are illegitimate because they've been liking pop acts", if we're going to go off that Coldplay since around this time period have been "illegitimate" which as we all know is completely false. I know, mainly unrelated but since he was doing an impression of a pop act I thought I'd bring it up to prove that Coldplay have never really turned away from pop acts... I guess it's just became more obvious over the years, you know, just like with everything they do, slowly but surely the straight side of them and the answers are revealed which is interesting to just go back through their discography and see how that's progressed among other things :D What?!! That's such a wasted opportunity to not ask her! Why would that ever be "weird" of you? Anyone who would judge you for being weird for asking about Coldplay when they're talking about Coldplay themself has something wrong with them. I'm pretty sure she would have been nice. Now it's going to be a long while till you come across that again I'm sure... I personally have never heard it, if so only once or twice... I'd definitely had started something up with her if that was the case! This version is so good, perhaps beter than the version on the album... it sounds so atmospheric and dense just like a lot of their early work. I wish one day they'd do something similar to it at least for a few songs. That being said I agree with the decision to fit the version that is on the album on the album since the Blue Room version while better doesn't fit the whole style of Parachutes as well as the "normal" version does. :) Sounds really nice, I like it :)

Which song do you have stuck in your head right now?
^ Underrated song. Why did it get left behind like so many other masterpieces Coldplay have made? And the worst part is, I bet there are some masterpieces made in the AHFOD era that will never be heard because apparently no one believes in B-sides or deluxe albums or rarities or unreleased songs anymore, Coldplay included, which is a real bummer :( I recently thought about Major Minus while replying to someone else on another thread giving my new review on it (my old opinion had a more negative outlook but I've changed my ways, it's actually a good song to me now, especially from 2:05 on) and now it seems as if it's going to be the song stuck in my head for the next little while :D

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear that coldplay song?
Well worry no more since it's a new song to my ears now and I like it! Even though it's now once again my least favorite song from MX, I still really like it, especially the part from 2:05 or something on. That really calm chill part then the guitar solo is completely epic. That's the greatest part of the song for me. But the single most disappointing moment in MX for me is the sudden ending to this really fast song and then the really slow calm U.F.O comes on. That tracklist decision to my ears makes 0 sense whatsoever and so I usually have to put something in between there to gradually slow things down to U.F.O. Really Major Minus shouldn't end like that anyway. It almost seems like Birds' twin in that way, they both end really suddenly like that and it's disappointing. At least in AHFOD it makes sense in a way since the birds chirping follow after to lead up to Hymn For The Weekend. The flow of Mylo is completely ruined at the end of Major Minus and that's the one problem I have with Mylo. As they say, nothing can be perfect as they say... at least @SprayCanSoulGuy edited Birds so that it's not so abrupt at the end. Maybe one day someone can edit Mylo Xyloto and fix the flow problem there!! :D But yeah, that song has really grown on me and I really do like it now. It stands out so much from the rest of the album seeing as it's not necessarily a happy track, which I like. The problem with AHFOD for me is that nearly every single track is happy, the exceptions being Everglow, Kaleidoscope and Colour Spectrum somewhat. With Mylo you have Us Against The World (sort of), Major Minus, U.F.O (sort of), Princess of China, Up In Flames, and Up With The Birds (although that part at the end is hopeful, which is the absolute perfect way to end off the album.) That's another reason why I like MX, contrary to popular belief it's not all lollipops and rainbows. AHFOD is closer to the truth to being all lollipops and rainbows, literally! Not that there's anything wrong with happy songs, but an album full of them... a little much, I like it shared with more melancholic/fast but not necessarily happy songs such as Major Minus. Which is why in my eyes Mylo Xyloto is a gem. Okay, another thing, Major Minus truly has much more of a rock feel to it then most of the other tracks on the album. Not even a pop rock feel really, just a jammin out rockier type. Again, gives Mylo more variety which I feel in an album is required, but if overused can destroy that central vibe an album generally needs to be good at least in my eyes. The way the acoustic guitar sounds still isn't that great in my opinion and the live version still really improves on it but overall, it's really grown on me. Sure you get the point now, just like with every other post I've overexplained it.... EDIT: One more comment on Major Minus. The message of it is awesome. Gives you that kinda energy you know... Also a unique sounding song with the way the vocals sound and really everything about it, forgot to mention that originally. Not now! :wink2: I'll let @I ran away do this one. She deserves it. :D (actually, in the meantime why don't I give my view on it: Sublime. The song only gets better as it goes on. Every decision they made was right. The one two three will thing in the beginning, the other instruments following after the drums, in the second repetition of the verse/chorus they add strings to give the song a growing feel, the piano solo part thing which sounds so beautiful and melancholic and fits perfectly right after the second chorus, then the string buildup into the emotional explosion of the song. Perfectly executed, well done Coldplay. A masterpiece. Good for listening too on an overcast/rainy day on the outskirts of towns with a slightly brownish color of clouds in the sky. :))

Site theme issues
This isn't related to the theme directly but today it's happened to me two times now where it takes me a little while to post something, like 15 minutes, maybe a little more, because it's either something large or I have to think about my answer in a Coldplay game. Either way both those times when I clicked post it said I must be logged in even though I was the whole time!! Like something logged me out automatically. In one of the posts this caused the formatting to mess up and I had to go back and spend another 10 minutes just fixing everything and then proofreading my post again to make sure nothing went wrong. This is just happening today, in rare cases before this it's happened sometimes but only like once or twice, it's happened more today than in most of my time here on Coldplaying. Strange...

The Coldplay Domino
IMO A Ghost sounds very cold, like a winter night in the countryside or something. That for some reason I associate with a lot of Coldplay songs... whereas Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas for me feels very warm and feels an indoor song. Both nighttime songs, yet I feel Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas is in a way slightly even happy sounding (still very slow) yet A Ghost is pure melancholic beauty. Both sublime, though. It should be a crime they left A Ghost behind and not even made a B-sde -- woah, like come on Coldplay, I never even thought of that till now. One of their greatest tracks and it isn't even a B-side?!!! Like come on.... Okay, on to the actual game now: Death And All His Friends. Death is linked with ghosts.

I didn't know the pronunciation of that for a while back in the day before I heard an interview where they said it... :D Apple, one of Chris' children and also the name of a company that had an event that Coldplay played at I believe :D

The Coldplay Domino
Ha I knew that would be the next one, Christmas Lights takes elements from Wedding Bells :D Coldplay's cover of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas". Such a beautiful and warm song, their Parachutes area really shined through in that style of music. The link is obvious. :D
