  1. Its the time of your lives
  2. I think that's implied, that's usually the case. :D
  3. And then you'll come back to me
  4. I find them everywhere! :)
  5. I really like this one too. Especially the alternate version!! He can sing reaaaaallly high in that one.. It would be epic if they played this song live sometime. :D It's the time of your lives
  6. I knew that would be the next one :D Don't you wanna see it come soon? (wanted one with either "bigger" "stronger" or "faster" on that, but I couldn't think of anything. Didn't want to spend too much time on it. Probably some but too lazy to find it lol, this one I had was hard enough to find as it was :D I always challenge myself to find the rarest words in songs.)
  7. Sublime. One of the best songs ever written. Too bad more music today couldn't be like it. I agree on that last statement you made as well.
  8. I recently had a period of time where I didn't enjoy this song a lot. It's grown back on me now, it's very melancholic and heartfelt and is the perfect song to fit after Princess of China, which is criminally underrated on this forum! It's not a happy song by any means (Princess of China). Poppy, yes. But the ending fits so perfectly into Up In Flames it almost feels like after the piano stops playing at the end of PoC the drumbeat from UiF should kick in immediately. Anyone notice the drumbeat to Up In Flames is very similar to the one in PoC, not necessarily in terms of the sound but the actual beats themselves? That's why I'm saying this, it almost feels as if they should be one track :) For me it would be quite distracting. I like the song but after even two plays of it it can get annoying. For me it's more of a one time thing, I enjoy it better that way. U.F.O is sublime. I dig that chord progression used, it's the same one used in the title track, the short instrumental piece at the beginning (which should be latched on to HLH but for some dumb reason isn't!!! :D but in my playlist it is) This "Mylo" chord progression as I like to call it pops up in a few other places in the album as well. Really kind of does a lot to stick everything together, interesting to find out the little things a band does to give more of a sense of "togetherness" in the album :D It's probably one of my favorite chord progressions, especially used in U.F.O it just gives it such a beautiful feeling. Perfect for it. Everything about U.F.O is perfect, it's my 9th or 10th favorite Coldplay song or something like that, and my third favorite off of Mylo Xyloto. I love it!! Typically songs I love this much I rarely play so I don't burn out of them, I've been doing that with a lot of Coldplay songs so I don't get sick of them. Neat idea I think. :D
  9. Ohhh I see, that makes more sense now, lol :) EDIT: The Coldplay reference was very subtle, it was a song much less known. "For You" and I said exactly that when I wished a band to cover some song from Coldplay "for you" :D I don't do it a lot anymore since there aren't as many posts to get through usually but for example if I miss a day on the forum like I did yesterday and there's a ton of posts to get back to I'll use color coding again. Felt so nostalgic... last time I used that I was very interested in discovering all there was to know about Coldplay, I did most of this discovering around winter, so that winter in particular is very nostalgic for me and some Coldplay songs I strongly link with memories from back then :) Hey, I've seen some of their posts before! That's cool how they used something very very similar to the picture in the middle of the AHFOD cover, the quote and image fit so nicely together :)
  10. I love that album, I do keep it for special occasions but for me more often when something really good is coming up :D
  11. Agree with much of this post. -I agree for some songs, not for all but some definetely, I think the production on more mainstream songs is much worse though! -True that. -Yeah, too bad that happens too. You can tell when he's still he sings a lot better. And how he lip syncs in Clocks is absolutely awful. Come on Chris Martin. You don't need that, or autotune, or any other of the pop gimmicks!! -I still like Coldplay's new melodies and they are much better than what's popular on the radio nowadays but I can agree that they are in fact less enchanting than what they used to do... lyrics have also gone downhill -Wish that didn't happen either. -Yeah, it's not as good now either -I've noticed that too, he says words really short in the live concerts and honestly the live performances of new songs such as the one you used in your example don't sound nearly as heartfelt as it should be, the singing style doesn't really match I've noticed. Still a fun experience but when you're so full of energy those songs seem to really be out of place in the first place. I agree with the last statement. Even though Coldplay it still much more genuine than most pop acts today! But their new album is mildly worse than most of the alternative rock from late '90s and in the first decade of the new millenium.
  12. That was great!! :D This is probably one of the best, if not the best Coldplay song to sing along too. One thing's for sure, it's the best at making me sing along to it. Lyrics are so memorable and fun. Not the best Coldplay has done but still very enjoyable for me :D Next song, chosen randomly: Brothers & Sisters
  13. This game looks super fun, one of these days I'll say something that could be included in the year :D
  14. True that!! If Chris Martin done a solo album, yeahhh no... In fact I'd be fine with EDM from him since I tend to like most from that genre, but I bet if he did a solo album that would be a small part of it, all the other songs likely being terrible... :(
  15. yes I want to grow yes I want to feel yes I want to know show me how to heal it up heal it up see the forest there in every seed angels in the marble waiting to be freed just need love just need love when the going is rough saying
  16. cp3176 replied to getithom's topic in Kaleidoscope
Yeah, it's interesting to see a snippet from 6 years ago got turned into Kaleidoscope, who knew it would even make the 3rd album ahead back then....
  17. Fixing up a car to drive in it again
  18. Bit of a pop-oriented post this time... to showcase the better side of it. For anyone who doesn't think Rihanna is a valid artist anymore: Like these or not, you've got to admit that these are a bazillion light years better than most mainstream pop nowadays. Beautiful, melancholic and heartfelt. What's not to like? "Close To You" is my new favorite of hers. I'm willing to say this is one of the greatest album closers ever. The album itself isn't that great, but I can appreciate Rihanna saying that this album wasn't meant to be filled with run of the mill top 40 stuff, and really it isn't either. It's a different style than normal pop albums even though I still don't really like it, I can appreciate that she isn't trying to solely get on the radio anymore (Work is an obvious exception LOL) You can hear it too though. The songs simply aren't "normal radio" stuff, different from what most of us like here at Coldplaying but different from the radio too. So let's appreciate that. :) I was introduced to this artist in the thread where you rate what the person above is listening to. This is a wonderful example of a electro/synthpop track. Too bad this is not even remotely popular. This sounds rich and full unlike how shallow and plastic everything sounds nowdays. Poppy, yes. Bad, no. Really enjoyable. One day I hope this artist has a massive hit and completely changes the sound of pop to be like this fpr a while. Actually listenable and doesn't make your ears bleed. Before these, I was recently listening to "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie. Her best song I'd say. Not a fan of most of her other stuff. This? An exception. Heartfelt, melancholic and beautifu, Just what I'm looking for.
  19. ohhh you forgot about it. Can't believe that! Neither can you I bet, so it's okay :) At least you know it now, and won't forget it! :D Sublime. In my opinion this is the Paradise of the new album. Such an amazing and beautiful song for when you get to do something totally awesome, for example getting to go to Coldplay concert, you have an "amazing day". Ultra underrated when it first came out though, just like Paradise, I noticed a lot of people didn't like it when it came out and I'm glad now that it's grown on the vast majority of Coldplayers! :) Hopefully the same happens to this song! Anyone who dislikes this song, go ahead but you have got to admit that it's light years better than most mainstream pop songs nowadays (for me, every single mainstream pop song nowadays :D) This is the one example I can think where the production actually works in the song's favor, it feels so rich, deep and full, clean polished production for me usually only makes a song sound worse but we got more of a rock production back at GC, which was nice enough but the production here really takes this song to another level. Glad Stargate didn't mess this one up as they did with a few other songs on the album... *cough*Up&Up*cough* But really the production isn't even that of most mainsream pop nowadays, most pop sounds so shallow, hollow, fake and plastic, and cheap while this song sounds deep, rich, full.. the sounds that tend to make me really enjoy a song. One thing I don't like, the vocal is a bit too up front I guess just like most pop nowadays, I don't particularly like that but it's not so bad like most mainstream pop nowadays to completely throw the song off. Otherwise, an absolutely gorgeous song. :)
  20. Calling All Angels - Train Where do you sleep?
  21. Alrighty, anyone remember this? When I was super new to the forum, I did this all the time when I had a ton of quotes to respond to? Color coding time again! :D (For anyone new to the forum, or just interested in why I did this in general, I only did this when I had a lot of quotes to reply to so the people who are only interested in seeing their own quotes can find them easily. Also putting quotes in spoilers so it doesn't take up massive amounts of room on the page. Of course anyone wanting to read all quotes like me can do so :D) 42Escapist, your quote is in red. Nie, your quote is in blue. I ran away, your 5 quotes are in gold. (One of these also applies to @ChrisMartinFan.) ChrisMartinFan, your quote is in green. Felt so nostalgic while writing this..[emoji813]
  22. I ran away!! It's been a long time!! Welcome back! :D (same to me right? You haven't seen me in a while....)
