  1. Surprised they didn’t play it on Graham Norton or Quotidien, even if it was online-only bonus content or something
  2. Yeah for me it would have been interesting to see which items were available instead of being rich enough to buy them, the catalogue was amazing with stuff like the Parachutes globe in there :pensive:
  3. Does anyone know if there will be another end of decade clear out sale like they had with VLV where they auctioned off gear for charity? Not that I’d be able to afford any of it anyway...
  4. Maybe DM Davide Rossi on IG, it's a long shot but worth a try!
  5. Yes, that’s probably why he sung it in a lower octave to give himself a proper warm-up.
  6. It's possible that the live vocals were played through the PA system to the audience while the playback vocals were used for the broadcast version, that's what they did at Glastonbury 2016. Maybe it was done for consistency reasons.
  7. I think it's pretty clear that the lip-syncing in Clocks wasn't being done because he couldn't hit the notes anymore, but instead as a break almost exactly mid-way through the long 20+ song setlist on the AHFODT. If you listen to other performances in 2015 (the Tidal concert, BBC Hackney, TFI Friday etc.) he still sings Clocks just fine and the vocals are clearly live. As for the EL 'tour', they've not been doing a lot of songs from older albums - nothing from MX; just one song from AROBTTH and X&Y; two songs from Viva, GS and Parachutes; 1 from AHFOD and the stripped-down version of SJLT since the era began.
  8. Chris is a baritone, if he has voice issues then the head voice parts in the chorus might crack which would ruin the song, that’s why I think he lip syncs this one.
  9. Yeah it’s much easier to sing than AHFOD, but maybe his current vocal issue is only affecting the top of his head voice, at least most of the other songs on EL are quite comfortably within his chest range so he can still do them OK.
  10. Maybe he was in character as the Pub Landlord :joy:
  11. I agree, it would be interesting to see how Church would do on the charts these days..slightly biased as it’s my favourite song on the album:D
  12. Hilarious that the most famous person they could get to show up was Al Murray :joy: Maybe it’s because the show was on a Monday night...
  13. DM me if you want me to send it to you.
  14. Yes if you have an iPhone you can use the screen record feature.
  15. Did you miss out on GS too? I did on the GS and EL shows but at least saw the AHFODT three times!
  16. That means we might never get a proper live version of it, quite sad because it’s my favourite song from the album:(
  17. If anyone wants screenshots of the article, feel free to DM me.
  18. Parlophone have a live stream on Instagram, the quality looks pretty good!
  19. Might be because of Chris’ voice issues or restrictions on the time they can finish, but seeing such a short setlist did make me feel slightly better about not being able to get tickets...
  20. Anyone hear about this? Hope he got there on timeo_O The first person I’ve heard of actually getting a ticket!
  21. I was initially skeptical about the album too, and kept thinking ‘oh my God what have they done’ until I listened to it many times over in the car on the way to work. Sunrise/Church make for an outstanding opener. Orphans is super catchy with a great chorus and guitar line. Èkó is musically beautiful, even though I’m not a huge fan of the lyrics/religions undertone. Daddy is a classic Coldplay ballad, relatable and emotional if that’s something you’ve been through. Arabesque is the most interesting song they’ve ever written and something it will take me months to fully get my head around and appreciate each element, it’s beautiful and makes up for everything that was wrong with AHFOD. When I Need A Friend is the perfect closer to Sunrise, with perfect emotional restraint and relatable lyrics. Guns is super catchy, I was hesitant about the lyrics at first but it’s really grown on me and I love the guitar and Chris’ lower range on the song. Cry Cry Cry has a great piano riff and the autotuned vocals in the intro are really interesting. Old Friends is super emotional with great guitar (read The Sunday Times interview for the back story about Chris’ friend Tony). Bani Adam is up there with PFFA as one of the most beautiful piano pieces Chris has written, and the crescendo ending when the band comes in is great. Champion of the World is so uplifting and emotional, really strong lyrically. Everyday Life is a much better closer than Up&Up, I can see why it’s Will’s favourite song. It really makes you think about the state of the world right now. And the rest of the songs will grow on me in time I’m sure! I like the intro and ending of Trouble in Town but the sample in the middle kinda ruins the flow of the song for me, even though it’s obviously important to understand the song’s message. Church, Daddy, Guns and Old Friends are my favorites so far for sure. Give the album time like I did and you’ll love it, it’s only been out for a weekend so far!
  22. Orphans isn't even in the Top 40 in the UK. I really avoid looking at the charts these days as they just make me despair..however with streaming, YouTube etc. I don't think they're anywhere near as relevant as they were 20-30 years ago to the state of pop music.
  23. I think Church is my favourite song on the album. Sunrise and Church are kinda like MX/HLH and Coldplay openers are always stunning!
  24. They did the same thing on the AROBTTH tour, asking fans to donate money to plant mango trees in southern India in order to offset the impact of touring, but sadly the local people weren’t given the resources to look after the plantation so a large proportion of the trees died or were burned and that just ended up releasing more CO2. Hopefully this time there’s more long-term thinking and support behind the plan, otherwise everyone loses.
  25. Luckily someone on YouTube made a crystal-clear recording of that show, I watch it often. For the RAH show I asked my teacher to go to the bathroom during class and tried to get tickets, but missed out then as well  I would have given anything to go to one of the GS shows.
