  1. With the greatest respect, this isn’t a Billie Eilish fan forum. I don’t have any strong feelings about her music either way, but everyone is entitled to their own musical taste, and the genre and target audience of her music is not the same as Coldplay’s.
  2. I’ve always thought the Midnight synth sounds similar to the intro synth in ‘Broken Strings’ by James Morrison.

  4. I can say regretfully that I completely agree with this, after thinking about the recent developments with Los Unidades. I really don’t enjoy Chris’ uncomfortable new vocal tone in comparison to his incredible emotional style during the Oldplay eras, and think it’s really sad that the band aren’t together in London anymore. In my opinion, Chris’ voice doesn’t blend with hip-hop type tracks and dance music, and he seems so out of place performing with artists like Pharrell as we saw at the recent South Africa festival. Their releases and whole PR machine have really been a complete mess with the Kaleidoscope EP and now Los Unidades, so I’m beginning to think that the band themselves and their team don’t really have a clear direction or plan for the future. As Chris himself would say, it’s important to stay true to yourself. So I would really enjoy a stripped-down album with just Jonny, Guy, and then Will on lead vocals, in the hope that they could rekindle that intimaticy of Parachutes or AROBTTH. They’ve achieved unimaginable things in their lengthy career compared to where they started from, and this forum shows that there’s still demand for that genre of music out there. So I think that would be a logical next step, as I don’t feel that the other band members are really comfortable with the direction Chris wants to go in as of late, especially as he has the attitude of not wanting to look back, which has lead to trying to fit into a new mainstream genre with Los Unidades.
  5. Warner Music Austria posted on Facebook that there would be a 5pm announcement
  6. What’s the situation with Clocks? Is it just the same recording?
  7. You can hear in some live performances (like above at the start) when he gets out of time with the string backing track that he is actually playing a tack piano sample on that keyboard behind the playback strings. During the later verses and ‘oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh’ chorus, he plays a few chords with a reverb effect which are noticeable in some live performances depending on the mix. Most soundboard performances don’t feature the guitar or bass prominently since Viva is based so heavily around the strings, percussion and Chris.
  8. Just picked up 3 tickets for myself and a couple of friends who I need to convert into Coldplayers in a month!! Didn’t want to take any chances this time because I missed Live 2012 in the cinema. It was certified 15 in the UK for Chris saying 1 swear word and so I wasn’t old enough to see it at the time.. On the day of the DVD release, I pulled a sickie from school and thankfully by a miracle the DVD arrived on my doormat in the morning so I watched the movie on repeat all day! So I went to the Vue cinema today in person to make sure I got the tickets and didn’t have to pay their stupid online booking fee..:) This movie couldn’t have come at a better time for me personally with some personal issues to overcome and I’m so grateful to the forums for giving me hope that this would eventually happen, even if it was the wrong ‘November’! Being among (hopefully) all of the Coldplayers in the city in one room is going to be such an experience!
  9. Didn’t Amazon recently introduce a monthly subscription instead of paying annually for Prime? I think that certainly exists in the UK now:D
  10. I think a lot of it had to do with Phil’s absence due to health reasons, as he seems such a calming and stabilising influence on the band. It’s so upsetting to see them that way, but perhaps it influenced X&Y’s themes for the better:D Every cloud:relieved:
  11. Finally, the fabled keyboard that Gwyneth’s father gave to Chris!
  12. Please could somebody tab the live version of AHFOD? I can’t seem to find anything close on UG:confused:
  13. Postcards From Far Away
  14. I can’t seem to find them anymore:sob: I’ll definitely have another go with the Triton Rack over summer
  15. Please can you post the exact settings used?
  16. That’s fascinating! At least there is a clean audio channel from the Made in America festival that has the Clocks pre-recorded vocals
  17. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=UpLXEIJ_6V0;t=28 In this interview from 2005, he talks about this "weird chord thing that's too geeky to go on about" in What If..anyone know what he's alluding to?
  18. Yes, please can someone reupload it with a link?
  19. Ah man:pensive: Are they in the form of a backing track synced up to the video? I'd be so interested in any information whatsoever you're willing to disclose!
  20. Was probably just referring to this one worn at the Grammys:
