Like many a Coldplay fan, I went to my local virgin (ahem...) to buy a copy of X&Y with a limited edition poster. One happy bunny i am. However... I can't help but think there's something fishy going on... How come, prior to release, this was the worlds most heavily guarded album and most of the publicity that surrounded X&Y was around the fact critics had to listen to it in a glassed up Ipod with a security guard behind him.. And yet, it arrives on the shelves today without a security tag, OR copyright protection without plastic wrapping etc... Oasis have pasted every single phonebox in west london with HEEEEYYY LYLA!!! yet Coldplay have invested little publicity (compared to Oasis) except for the odd 'Speed of Sound' poster. It seems like the 'security' hype around this album has given Coldplay all the publicity they could possibly get. Please, feel free to disagree with me. The album is incredible, just thought i'd reiterate common opinion. Ric

Am i alone in regarding Be Here Now as a fuckin good album? Alot of the songs are really really long but if u actually have the attention span to listen to it all, then it's a good set of songs! As for you dcbc, i suggest u go to the oasis forum and bitchslap coldplay, you're dishing out unfair and unconstructive criticism. balls.

You can't question that these instruments are integral to the unique sound of Coldplay right? But who on earth plays them!!?? For those of you that have seen Coldplay live, who plays the strings and the organs and the synths? Can anybody shine some light on this for me? [/glow]

I'm absolutely livid. And it aint even sunday yet... If that stupid bastardized frog pips coldplay to number 1 then yes, it's quite safe to say, that britain has serious serious issues when it comes to their taste in music. balls.

For you to judge it now is totally beyond me....

Coldplay are undoubtedly one of the biggest bands in the world right now. Many other bands which have shared their status have done special 'one-off' shows with an orchestra or string orchestra backing (Metallica, Incubus, Elton John, Portishead to name a few) Do you think that Coldplay will ever play a gig with an orchestral backing? Can you imagine Warning Sign, or The Scientist with a string orchestra backing? Pant-Wetting... I see this being a wonderful and profitable thing.. Keep it unreal ; )
