As Fixed just pointed out Liverpool's got a lot to offer. You don't seem to provide any arguments whatsover why you dislike the place. Surely you know that you can't judge a city because you've met one rude person. Sounds to me like you're just being bitter because Newcastle didn't win.

Good one. I'm sure you convinced her not to visit the place. Liverpool's got a lot of history and the dock area is certainly worth seeing. There isn't much new stuff. They built the Echo Arena and Liverpool One, which is a shopping centre so it hasn't got anything to do with the capital of culture.

You can get from London to Liverpool in less than three hours. I'm not suggesting you should go but it is definitely possible to visit a Northern town/ city. Can't recommend you anything then because I don't really know the South.

I would never confuse the two places. I lived near Middlesborough for a while and someone I really like is from Sunderland so there... I go there quite a lot too.

I personally wouldn't do it. I really need to go shopping myself. I'm invited to a Christmas dinner next week and I think it's in a quite expensive restaurant. Haven't got a clue what to wear. Also it's in Sunderland so I have to get on a train and I'm not sure if I can get changed when I get there.:embarassed:
