  1. I'm seeing a few people on the Coldplay subreddit being generally condescending/nasty to each other about whether the Amazon thing is real or fake. People seem to be just concerned about proving themselves rather than celebrating the fact we're getting new Coldplay. I'm glad to see people here are keeping it relatively friendly and civilized.
  2. It's short for "esquire", I'm pretty sure it's being used like a mock honorific title for Will.
  3. Congratulations on page 1(.)36 everyone!.... Re: "double album": I'd be surprised if it turned out to be two separate albums like some people are saying, either released on the same day or one soon and one in 2020. As far as I'm concerned, a "double album" refers to one package with two discs. Wikipedia seems to agree with me too. I can't imagine them using that specific term to mean separate albums when it refers to one album with two discs.
  4. I'm not completely convinced that Timbaland sharing the photo means that he or any of the other producers are involved with the album, but I would be very disappointed if they were.
  5. Exciting times!
  6. I find it strange that a lot of people are saying the stuff Kirboh is saying is "too specific to be fake". I could make up my own tracklist with timings, album name, release strategy, etc.... with no evidence or basis in fact at all! I'd love to be wrong but I fear a lot of people are setting themselves up for disappointment.
  7. I made that connection too! This is all seeming VERY similiar to the Grinch leak to me, and that "leak" was even higher-quality and had even more "proof". It got me super pumped up leading up to the release of SSB Ultimate, and I guess it's part of the reason I'm skeptical of this "leaked" tracklist now.
  8. I was skeptical up until now, trying not to get my hopes up only to be disappointed. But the photos prove it... Coldplay are back! I still feel like the album won't release until next year, though, the rumours of it coming out in the next few weeks seem too good to be true (though I'd love to be wrong!) And if it's true that the album is radio-unfriendly with weird time signatures, what a breath of fresh air that would be after AHFOD. I'm hoping for something in the style of King Crimson's Discipline album..... there I go getting my hopes up!
  9. "Nearly Kills Guy"... give me a break. Anyone who's "nearly killed" by being pushed to the ground is probably too weak to go outside.
  10. I second that. What are we talking about here?
  11. Listening to Up&Up from Love in Tokyo and hear some heavy autotune on Chris, too bad. Couldn't really notice it on the rest of the album though, which is a plus. Haven't listened to Buenos Aires yet, are any of the tracks on Tokyo the same as the double-disc?
  12. Why do they have to announce things like this AFTER they announce the vinyl and THE DAY before release??? I'm too broke to buy this now and I would have rather had this than the vinyl/DVD box. Hopefully resale prices won't be too egregious because I'll have to pick it up later.
  13. I agree. I sometimes wonder what the point in them playing ASFOS and SJLT live is when half the song is from a backing track. I actually really like ASFOS, but it seems weird for them to play it live when very little of it is actually "live".
  14. I can't think off the top of my head of any more disappointing Coldplay songs / projects than this EP, although I think that E-Lo is worse than both Timbuktu and Voodoo. It has to be bad when you'd rather listen to Princess of China or SJLT... or the Nappies :p
  15. Voodoo is great in parts and not so great in others. The first minute or so is really good (the first verse sounds a lot like Fun to me) but the chorus and the "get on the bounce" guest singer's parts aren't my favourite. Timbuktu is alright. The parts where Chris is singing are good, but the guest singer with the over-the-top autotune is sort of offputting. I actually really like Stormzy's part, more so than Jay-Z's bit in Lost+ or Big Sean's bit in M(SS). My mind hasn't changed on E-Lo. In general, I think that Voodoo and Timbuktu have some really good bits that are sort of sidelined by the not-so-good bits. And be honest, would you really give any of these songs a listen if Chris wasn't singing on them? I probably wouldn't and I feel like a lot of you wouldn't either.
  16. I don't think the songs sound exactly the same but I don't think the differences between E-Lo and SJLT are anywhere near as vast as those between OK Computer and Kid A. I just thought the comparison wasn't exactly fair.
  17. I don't have a problem if you like the song, but I think comparing it to Kid A is a bit much. Kid A was a completely unexpected move, with the most creative songwriting and lyrics Radiohead had up to that point in territory they and most other rock groups had never set foot in (outside of Meeting in the Aisle). We've already had songs in E-Lo's sort of style from Coldplay in the forms of SJLT and HFTW, and there's not much separating it from the rest of the songs on the Top 40 charts at the moment. Again, all power to you if you love the track, but I don't think you can argue that you can compare it to the transition between OKC and Kid A.
  18. What a roller coaster this day has been. Absolute excitement to utter disappointment in the span of about 4 hours :p
  19. How Chris can call Ode to Deodorant a “s***” song but see this fit to release is beyond me...
  20. Haven’t heard the song yet but it seems quite grim from what I’m hearing here. And to think we were excited for Car Kids!
  21. Well they certainly have been full of surprises! Really hope it’s not a new band name LOL
  22. Was that the show that was broadcasted on VR?
  23. Everyone's talking about The Race but I can't get enough of Vitamins.
  24. Well, here's my (terrible quality, poorly recorded, audio-only) clip of the bonus footage from the end. Hopefully it works for everyone (and hopefully we'll get a better quality version somehow, so that we don't have to listen to this!) Mods, feel free to take this down if it violates any rules! 25. What a film! [spoiler=Some highlights] Never knew there was an EP before Safety. When will that get released?!?! A clip of Ode to Deodorant over some of the early footage! Video of a rehearsal with Chris and Jonny playing Careful Where You Stand Charlie Brown accordion version! Clip of Prospekt’s March from a soundcheck, couldn’t decipher which tour it was from though According to the credits we got snippets of two unreleased songs: The Race and Vitamins!!! Will have to dissect those once the DVD comes out. Did anyone else notice that in one of the clips during the credits, they were recording background vocals for Solid Ground?
