I'm literally listening now and dancing around while I'm cleaning. Although it makes me not want to clean but to float off somewhere...

I definitely see posts on the Coldplay group on Facebook that are ridiculous by people saying they are or have been fans. They often are followed by this new album sucks anyway so that's the real reason. Most are just being immature about the fact they won't get to see them tour any time soon. It sucks that we won't see them on the road a while but take a big step back and look at the big picture a minute. Anyway one of the reasons I hate most of the Internet.

The negative backlash from people, even fans, over Coldplay's decision not to tour until they work out a more sustainable approach is surprising to me. From haters, like Fox News who just wants the planet to go down in a fiery ball of destruction anyway and gives no Fs, I was not surprised. But for angry fans....I totally understand disappointment but some of the vitriol I am seeing from so called fans is absolutely ridiculous.

Everyday Life and depression
@I ran away you are so brave to share and bring light to these parts of some of us. Our experiences differ but we have threads that connect us. I know it's a journey. I just went in a dark path this week myself. It's so important to always remember you can swim to the surface again...there is light there. Be well.

Church - Sunrise
I've heard a lot of people don't like this song. It is one of my favorites. I love the atmospheric sounds, the guitars, the vocals, the Arabic singing. While some might think the analogy is cringy I find it swoony.

Daddy - Sunrise
I showed my teenage daughter the video and we both bawled. I don't know how Chris sings it without crying. :sob: :sob: :sob: :sob:

Random Coldplay thoughts...
I am a person who thinks I have it under control and don't care what people think, then something comes along that sets off my insecurities again. It is a cycle...some days I can handle it beautifully, some days I can't. I imagine person like Chris who seems to also have anxiety and insecurity goes through this too, even if he is famous.

I waited until watching last night and then getting the full album before I listened. I've only had a chance to listen to Sunrise twice (once live, once on the album) and about half of Sunset on the album, and all of it from the live performance. I must say I am blown away. I love this album. Which is interesting for me because I did NOT like Ghost Stories when I heard it first, but then once I listened to. it many times, and watched the Zane Lowe interview, and then listened again, it became one of my favorites. But this is in my top 3-4 on a first listen. Now, maybe if I hadn't heard all the singles to now, it would have been underwhelming at first. And I think listening to Sunrise live...while they were in Jordan...watching the sunrise just etched it in my brain beautifully as well. But...just wow. Some people have complained about a lack of cohesiveness...I think of it as an exploration of themes. And I love the jazz, Arabic, gospel, and African influences throughout. I love how both chill and thought provoking a lot of it is. I love the faster bits too. I love this album. Standouts for me right now: Sunrise-- gorgeous, sumptuous intro Church, and am surprised it is so controversial. I will say that I had a bit of flashback of Hozier's Take me to Church when I was listening to it. Also Sting's Desert Rose. But I love both of those songs, so this makes sense that I love this one. But I guess I like the idea of someone loving so much it's akin to worship or a place of healing so that works for me. Trouble in Town - I love the beat, the guitar, the bass...and so thought provoking and heart breaking Daddy - Puddle of tears, makes me think both of how much time am I spending with my own kids, and also how I almost lost my own father to illness a few years ago and if this would've been out then it would have destroyed me completely Arabesque - goes without saying - them horns! That explosion at the end! YES! Guns - so sarcastic and bewildered - I get it, I am there Old Friends - only heard it once, but totally enjoyed it...needs more listens Champion of the World - love the guitar riff, it makes me so wistful...I know what it's like to be the dorky kid who gets bullied, but does his/her best to stay optimistic. Sort of made me think of a Shel Silverstein poem. Everyday Life - so simple but so beautiful. Reminds you to just be grateful of the simple things. I think I may finally break down and get a record player so I can order the vinyl, starting my path to a future collector hobby.

So I think I misunderstood. I know Chris said that he wasn't doing Viva and Sparks at the Q&A due to vocal issues, but was he going to do them after the Everyday Life Performance? I didn't see them...

I think Viva was on there bc despite it's being played so much it is at least one of Chris's favorite songs they made (based on a couple interviews I've seen).

Daddy (Official Video)
I think this song reminds us that simple, heartfelt words are beautiful.

Everyday Life - press/reviews
When I see hate comments about Coldplay I just feel sorry for those miserable people. It must be tough to go through life with such hatred in your heart. Grown ass adults acting like school bullies over a difference in musical taste. Just sad.

I totally voted for Sparks. I have seen all the other songs live - Sparks would be so special because I missed Parachute era concerts but I was a fan during Parachutes era. Even if it doesn't win first if we can get it to second, they should play it.

Who said it ? AHFODFilm edition !
Yes, Chris was describing that both Will and Guy have the OK / no way spectrum for his ideas.

Who said it ? AHFODFilm edition !
Apologies for killing the game! A short phrase bc I cant watch it right now and get the actual full piece. "OK or no way"

As someone about to be 40, this whole conversation is quite amusing (and at the same time disturbing). During AHFOD Chris was doing more weight training and was bulkier which did make him look healthier. He seems to have stopped that and is back to skinny Chris again. Unfortunately as we age, the plumpness in our skin gies away and getting skinnier can make the face look older.

LP8 Thread - Everyday Life
Coldplay has been around for over 20 years at this point. Chris has always tended to be a songwriter who focuses on the beauty of simplicity in lyrics. I don't know why it seems like people are thinking suddenly there will be this 180 change in songwriting unless you want someone other than Chris to write them. But I bet those who complain about his songwriting would also complain about that. Look at all the bitching about collabs or producers. It's frankly annoying. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. I understand if you don't like the music. But don't complain because you want Coldplay to be something they are not.

I think Coldplay has been too polite and repressed. It's time.

Everyday life - the track - Sunset
"At first light Throw my arms out open wide Hallelujah..." I am imagining here someone has survived the night and is thankful to be alive. This brings me to tears.
