  1. I am digging the whole Mumford and Sons new album Delta. I think Beloved is my favorite track on there now.
  2. Probably August or September. We brought a picnic to a local brewery. It was nice. When was the last time a song gave you goosebumps?
  3. What makes a Coldplayer? I have loved them since 2000 when I first heard Parachutes and would buy then stream every album. So I loved and knew lots of songs. I actually remember when I wondered if I was growing out of them. That was, surprisingly for me now, Ghost Stories. I remember initially really disliking the album. Which seems crazy since I usually love chill sad music. Now it is one of favorites l. But...I didn't become an actual Coldplayer superfan until I went to my first concert finally during AHFOD in 2017. I hadn't even really listened much to that album but...The euphoria of that night stuck with me and literally changed my life. It was crazy.
  4. Yeah I think it is fun. I do think their first two albums are masterpieces that have not been beaten by the other albums (even though I appreciate Viva I actually listen to Viva songs the least). But I do like every album no matter how different it seems.
  5. Clearly unpopular opinion apparently but I am Oldplay age and like Chainsmokers and think SJLT was a pretty genius move by the band.
  6. I think it is absolutely correct and necessary to be able to say you dont like something. Different opinions should be encouraged and embraced. That's not the same thing as some of the behavior that seems to creep in when people start assuming people must be lying when they say they like a style of music, or that they are somehow lesser for their choices. That is the piece that should get called out and has no place in a Coldplayer community.
  7. I love this take! So I personally have a hard time with this death of rock thing bc I do love the simple crunch of guitars and bass and drums and all that and wish I could find more of it that I love like the music of my youth as a middle aged oldster. That being said I love many genres and lots of music so it isn't bc those others are more popular that it distresses me. Honestly it is probably bc I just dont have the desire to hunt for things like I used to as a kid ... Anyway I agree that Coldplay transcends genres and their ability to flow with time is amazing. I still think another amazing era of music we've not even thought about yet is right around the corner...
  8. Anybody see this come out yesterday? Analysis? https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2018/12/07/how-coldplay-a-band-that-says-rock-is-done-grossed-500-million.html
  9. I'm so so so glad they shared it. Thanks boys!
  10. My butterfly and love in Tokyo shirts are finally on their way!!!!
  11. Because there are a lot of people want to dance and sing along to someone singing it live even if there are electronic elements. And a Coldplay concert is a whole experience. But I understand if people want things to be pure, authentic, real. Hell, despite my fervent defense of the many directions of Coldplay, I love authentic live instrument playing best. I am truly lamenting the "death of rock" in the industry actually. But there is room for all types of music. And also why is it Coldplay's responsibility to keep it alive? Because from the beginning they were limestone rock at best. I feel like folks are asking Coldplay to "save music" in whatever image they have when from the beginning they were like we arent cool man. We do our own thing. We follow the trends or not. We don't subject ourselves to pressures. Or at least that's how I've seen them evolve from self conscious to IDGAF. And if that loses them some fans that leaves a whole nuther world and generation who will follow despite it all.
  12. It could just be possible people are saying positive things because they have different tastes? That doesn't mean they are wrong or stupid. I hate this kind of bullying based on what people like. It's fine to say you don't like something but don't invalidate others opinions.
  13. Lets be real. E-Lo sounds exactly like what a collab effort of Coldplay with other artists with a name like Los Unidades would sound like.:p
  14. Why does everyone think Chris is the only one who likes pop? Clearly poppy songs were approved by Will and Guy with AHFOD. They all love multiple genres. They will likely never go back to 2000 alternative rock bc it is not 2000 anymore. And the level of upset on this thread is a bit much IMO. They are doing this for a good cause and hyped it to get it attention so it would get the recognition it needs for a good cause. C'mon now.
  15. I DON'T EVEN CARE AS LONG AS WE GET MORE TUNES!!! OMFG!!!
  16. I would be down with it if they play beloved b sides. I also had a thought. What if they don't release albums anymore but rather some other format. I dont know, various collections of songs. Maybe Chris can release more stuff he thinks that's cool if it's not a track list session anymore. :D:p
  17. Prospekt's March, along with Sleeping Sun, are my recent discoveries and are def climbing the list.
  18. If I really am honest probably: 1. Paradise 2. O 3. Amsterdam 4. Clocks 5. The Scientist But really there are so so many...it is like having a hundred types of chocolate and trying to pick just 5 of them. If u are a chocolate lover like me.
  19. So I was in university roughly the same time as these guys and have been a fan since Parachutes came out and it was hugely nostalgic for me. Not only bc of my love for the band but here I am about to be 40 looking back at my own life. And I feel blessed. I am not a famous superstar but I am a superstar in my job, for my kids, in my husband's eyes. So my thoughts to you and anyone else is...follow what you think is right, love others, love yourself...and you will be just fine.
  20. Aaaah watched on Amazon Prime and feel so full of love right now. Beautiful. Wish I could have full versions of those unreleased tracks. C'mon Will and Guy why u gotta be so picky (jk that was the theme I picked up and assumption I am making lol).
  21. Wait, NME saying they are releasing a surprising new album next year? Or just working on it? The headline and text of article are confusing. http://fal.cn/SHXB
  22. 10 mins of extra content???? Hmm...will discuss with the sister....
  23. Is it blasphemous that I'm not going to theater but doing an at home watch party with my sister who went to concert with me when it's on Amazon two days later?
