It feels on the nose at first, but I didn't get until a couple listens that I think this is about when things are so terrible, when you are suffering, to be able to return to normal, everyday life would be so beautiful.

Very pretty. Agree that more of a build up at the end would be nice but...there is a sad subtlety to the way it ended.

I am probably one of the few dorks hoping that they use the fact that Chris Martin's ancestor was responsible for daylight saving time as a joke on SNL since we fall back an hour tonight in the US.

Chris is completely classic dad/uncle jokester. You cannot take him seriously about 80% of the time in interviews. It is his brand of humor. To say the exact opposite of whatever it is (see: this might be our last album every album).

I don't think it was just about collabs and togetherness. I think there was a specific sound they were going for...think of the layers and build. I think they were more involved in the creation of this sound than it may seem when you just think it is a brass section added for kicks. I think it is much more intentional than that. I think it is a powerful jam session. Guy's bass especially features prominently. The rest of the band has their sounds also mingled. All that being said, I understand if those sounds aren't some folks cup of tea. But I don't think we can give no credit to the band for the concept or sound of the final piece.

Hot Take: I just want to scream "SAME FUCKING BLOOD" at every bigot and racist I come across after repeated listens.

I declared my love in LP8 but I will here as well - as many have stated, that build up and outro is absolutely epic!!!! I realized after the 50th listen what this makes me think of. Love Arabesque!!!! I saw Lenny Kravitz with his horn section this year and I hope that Coldplay would tour with one too. Nothing like those horns live but this came close enough. *swoon* Still need more listens of Orphans. I don't hate it, and there are catchy parts. But Arabesque shines more for me. Hyped for the rest to come!

Two pages ago it was "it better not be reworked old songs." Now that there is a track listing and what appears to be official album art it's "this isn't right either." All i hear is Chris's wry song on AHFOD movie, "with their f***ing opinions." I think it's fair to hear the music before completely skewering the band? No? All that being said there are rumors that this is fake. Can anyone verify?

Not gonna lie - although I was only able to go to one concert (due to it always being sold out in previous years, too far away, or not enough funds at the time) and ordered from the merch site once, I still looked for a letter in the mail. :blush::relieved: A girl can dream, right?

*shrug* still disappointed that it caused a negative vibe. As an original fan from the Parachutes days nearing my 40s, I think it's just inevitable that a band is going to change with the times so they can stay relevant. Otherwise we would have no new Coldplay music at all. If you would have preferred that then I don't know why you are STILL a fan. That's my opinion and that's life too.
