  1. I'm staying up to see the news though. And, I know someone who's going to Houston to see a playoff game. How much does that suck? I'd do anything to go :(
  2. and I am nearly gone.
  3. They've said on our news that it was one guy. And he's deceased. There's a video on http://www.sky.com/news off someones mobile phone where you can hear the gunshots going off in the background. It's insane... One student said they were put on lockdown for a while and were hitting the net trying to find out what was going on, and they lifted the lockdown temporarily and the gunman struck again.
  4. They're saying that they thought he left after the first shooting, which is why they thought it was safer to keep the people on campus. but apparently he went into a class, shot some people and left and came back to get teh rest and some girl threw herself at the door and he couldnt get in, so he was like... shooting through the door at her trying to kill them all can you even begin to imagine that?
  5. What gets me is that he shot up in the dorm at 7am and 2 hours later there was still classes going on. I mean, the guy was still on the loose and he struck again. Someone fucked up. This is like something from a movie. Unreal.
  6. 32 Dead In Gun Rampage Updated: 18:55, Monday April 16, 2007 At least 32 people are feared dead in the worst ever gun rampage on an American university campus. A further 28 were injured before the gunman was himself shot dead, according to reports. The drama happened at the Virginia Tech college in Virginia. Police say the gunman opened fire at people in a classroom and dormitory. Witnesses said he was heavily armed and entered the college looking for his girlfriend. He reportedly lined up students and opened fire at them. He was said to be a young Asian. The name of the gunman has not been released. It is not known if he was a student. United States President George Bush is said to be "horrified" at the killings. "He was horified and his immediate reaction was one of deep concern," said White House spokeswoman Dana Perino. Virginia Tech says there were shootings at both ends of its 2,600-acre campus. The first was at about 0715am at West Ambler Johnston, a co-educational hall of residence that houses 895 people. There were further shootings about two hours later at Norris Hall, an engineering building. One student was killed in a dorm and the others were killed in the classroom. One first-year student said the shootings at West Ambler Johnston were on the fourth floor, one above her room. The resident assistant in her dormitory knocked on her door about 8am and told her to stay put. "They had us under lockdown," said the student. "They temporarily lifted the lockdown, the gunman shot again." "We're all locked in our dorms surfing the Internet trying to figure out what's going on," she added. Virginia Tech, which has 26,000 students, is located in the southwest corner of the state, about 240 miles from Washington DC. The rampage was one of the worst on a university campus in the US since Charles Whitman ran amok at the University of Texas in August, 1966. He killed 15 people, including his mother and wife the night before, and wounded 31 others. source: news.sky.com My God... That's... unbelievable. My prayers to the families of the victims...
  7. I stayed up till 2am last night watching the Knicks lose again. Then I woke up for school and had one lesson, where I did no work. Then after finishing early I went to town to buy train tickets for Wednesday. And I bought a tshirt. Then I came home and played basketball for a while. And now I'm here. Waiting to talk to a friend and go for a walk.
  8. I'd say so. It requires strength and skill. And it isn't easy. You can't just be told what to do and do it, you gotta practise.
  9. I wanna be rich. :D
  10. If this has anything to do with my legion of Ninjas, you don't need me to warn you. We have sharp things.
  11. What did you choose? I'd have problems with that too.

I think there's probably a number of British people who would come to the exact same conclusions. It's a sad reality though. That guy who posted all the insults went way over the top though. It was said more than once in the first post that it wasn't meant to be insulting to anyone.
  13. Chelsea are lucky. Blackburn should have put them away in second half. If Pederson had scored that header....

Massa looked delighted when he won. Kimi just didn't haha. And Alonso! Alonso looked like he'd been shot.
  15. No, I have to study also. :( When was the last time you fell over?
  16. Maybe they're saying this so they can get married in secret tomorrow and no-one will suspect it. That means no paparazzi intrusion. That said, Camilla and Charlie's wedding was everywhere.
  17. Make a poll? Jefferson, Wilbur.. what else?
  18. Can't we just use Jefferson whether he likes it or not? :)
  19. I heard it's difficult to get in there, congrats. :D You're going the whole way in moving then. I don't think it would be possible for you to move further away :P I'll be in the North East so we won't be too far away :P Maybe one time when you head home to Portsmouth and I'm heading down to the Isle of Wight we will travel together and share students stories. Haha. :P

Massa wins Hamilton second with 3 seconds back. Another podium! Kimi third, Heidfeld fourth holding Alonso fifth. Bad race for him. In other news: Coulthard was brilliant and the commentators repeatedly said "Coulthard is on fire!" until unfortunately, he actually was. Button lasted the grand total of 4 corners, but I didn't see that incident so I can't comment on it properly. Ah well. 3rd, 2nd, 2nd for Lewis. First driver ever to podium his first 3 races? Oh, and 3 drivers tied for 1st in drivers. Hamilton, Alonso, Raikkonen on 22. Massa is at 17.
  21. Where you goin, Ted?
  22. Ha. I feel like this thread have proved worth me making for getting you to open up a bit :P My mum was kinda in a bit of the same situation. My nanna is blind, has been since she was 11. And she has 3 daughters (my mam and my 2 aunties) and all of the like... grandchildren etc etc. My mam, and my 2 brothers and myself are the only ones that live here in Newcastle. The rest live on the Isle of Wight, at the other end of England. My nan, cause of her blindness, hasn't been able to excerise like a perfect sighted person would, and lost mobility a lot. So much so that last Autumn my mam reached the decision that my nan had to move to the Island so she would have more family to take care of her. Cause my mam had basically looked after her by herself for 20 years or so, with help only from myself since I've been old enough. And my mam needed a break. So I suppose that's almost the same thing. My mam put herself before her mother one time, after 20 years of being the only daughter who really put herself out for her mother. It was the same with my grandad Joe (God rest his soul) who was also blind. It got to a point though that my grandad left everything in his will to my mam, and nothing to his other 2 daughters. I guess the difference is my nan has 2 other daughters while you are the only one?
  23. Simple question, but possibly a complicated answer. So think about it. I think mine is this week. I'm in my last year of high school / sixth form so I'm going to University in September, and this week I'm gonna try and decide for sure where I'm going. On Wednesday I'm going for a open day at Teesside University, which is at the moment the top of my priority list. If I go there it means I'm moving out. Which is kinda scary but I guess a bit exciting at the same time. I've put off deciding for a few weeks now so I kinda need to sort it out and make a final decision, to put my mind at rest and give me room to concentrate on other things from now until then. But, then again. There's been situations where I've kinda not came to a decision, when it was just waiting for me to. So maybe the biggest decision I've ever made, was one I never made at all? Okay. Before I confuse myself I'm just gonna post this and see if anyone replies...
  24. No, give us an intitial to work with? And. Since some people now decide to post in colour. I shall join the trend.
  25. 32,000th reply in this thread. Yay. Julia you got 32,000th post altogether :P
