  1. Pins and needles dude, pins and needles... makes typing difficult.
  2. ^ Great :) I've been looking over people's top 10s.... I'm beggining to think that it's a long shot that Coldplay will take the entire top 3. My prediction: 1. AROBTTH 2. Kid A 3. either OK Computer or Parachutes I think a Beatles album has a better chance of making the top 3 than X&Y.
  3. Anyway before this all gets locked up, a HUGE thanks to Nik for putting up with all of us procrastinators and getting all of this together. ;) I don't envy you the task ahead... good luck.
  4. Yay McLaren! :) Nice to see them get their act back together. It just occured to me... it was exactly 15 years ago that I was a Williams obsessed Nigel Mansell fan and Senna's McLaren was the evil nemesis I couldn't stand. How times have changed. It's kind of sad not to see Williams at the top anymore.
  5. Well at least that way you don't have to feel bad if the others guys get crushed.
  6. Yay! Those are always fun, even if they do take annoyingly long to get to the point.
  7. :laugh3: And yet we picked different albums of theirs.
  8. Don't go camping in the rain in early April, and especially don't burn old wood that has old paint on it in the campfire. You'll catch a nasty cold, and the toxic paint smoke on your clothes will give your sister a headache. Anyone have any Tylenol?... oh wait, I just took some an hour ago. Stupid smoke. :sick2:
  9. Mmmm... I just bought that album about 2 weeks ago... people have been wondering why I was so distracted all of the time... it's because I had bits of it stuck in my head. Devastating. Can't think of a better word for it. edit: We made it to 50 lists!
  10. No thanks. ...:P You're probably right, though. Although I think a Radiohead album or two just might sneak into the top 3.
  11. Goodness... I was a member of several of them (mainly TORn, TORc, and WaroftheRing.net among others) back before the movies came out and all the Orlando Bloom obsessed fangirls invaded. Even then stuck with them until RotK came out. I used to hang around in Barlimans alot and even went to the 'Gathering of the Fellowship' in Toronto for RotK's opening. But I haven't really been on any of them in a long time. I started hanging around there when it was mainly well-read (usually male) geeks, so the bubble-headed fangirls taking over everything started to get to me after awhile and I decided to take a break.
  12. Snow. It's April. :( Why does it have to snow so much NOW. More snow than we've had at any one time for most of the winter it seems like.
  13. ^Thanks! :)
  14. Is that you playing? Nice. I've gotta get me an electric guitar guitar one of these days... stuff like that doesn't sound the same on an acoustic one...
  15. Man, if I ever rode something that tiny I would seriously mess up my knees.
  16. ^ yeah, apparently the doctors told him to stop singing about a month ago but he didn't. :stunned: Hope he comes through ok. He posted a whole thing about it on his part of the website.
  17. :laugh3: That bike can NOT be very easy to go up hills on. There are several blurry spots... they don't really make sense unless the photo has been altered. Or maybe there were some fingerprints on the lens?
  18. Nice. I saw that video a couple of times when I was channel surfing and was like "wow :stunned: ". The filmmaker/medievalist in me was awestruck, and the music was so beautiful too. Rarely see something like that in heavy rotation. Just never followed up on who it was. Been looking around now though, turns out all his videos are one big story. Just... yeah. Wow. If it wasn't for the way too modern looking actresses, they would have been perfect. :nice:
  19. ^ You know, it recently occured to me that I really don't want to rush through the classics. What will be there to discover when I'm 40 if I do? :stunned: Thus no Beatles on my list- you can only listen to something for the first time once, and I want to save a few of the best for later. ;) Anyway, without further ado, my list. *cracks knuckles* 1 Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head 2 Radiohead - OK Computer 3 Coldplay - Parachutes 4 Radiohead - Amnesiac 5 Radiohead - Kid A 6 Muse - Origin of Symmetry 7 Arcade Fire - Funeral 8 Muse - Absolution 9 Sigur Rós - Takk 10 Radiohead - The Bends 11 Snow Patrol - Final Straw 12 Oasis - What's the Story Morning Glory? 13 Sigur Rós - Agaetis Byrjun 14 Guillemots - Through the Windowpane 15 Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not 16 Thom Yorke - The Eraser 17 Snow Patrol - Eyes Open 18 Loreena McKennit - The Visit 19 Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand 20 Oasis - Don't Believe the Truth 21 Stars - Set Yourself on Fire 22 Sufjan Stevens - Illinoise 23 TV on the Radio - Return to Cookie Mountain 24 The White Stripes - Elephant 25 Loreena McKennit - The Book of Secrets 26 Muse - Black Holes and Revelations 27 Sigur Rós - ( ) 28 The White Stripes - White Blood Cells 29 Stars - Heart 30 Coldplay - X&Y 31 Sam Roberts - We Were Born in a Flame 32 Arcade Fire - Neon Bible 33 Rob Dougan - Furious Angels 34 In-Flight Safety - The Coast Is Clear 35 Moby - Play 36 Franz Ferdinand - You Could Have it So Much Better 37 Jack Johnson - On and On 38 KT Tunstall - Eye to the Telescope 39 Doves - The Last Broadcast 40 The Killers - Hot Fuss 41 Dido - No Angel 42 Loreena McKennit - Elemental 43 U2 - The Joshua Tree 44 Fatboy Slim - Better Living Through Chemistry 45 Dido - Life for Rent 46 Jack Johnson - In Between Dreams 47 Great Big Sea - Play 48 Enya - The Celts 49 Lifehouse - No Name Face 50 BT Movement in Still Life 51 The Chieftains - Fire In the Kitchen 52 Loreena McKennit - An Ancient Muse 53 FrouFrou - Details 54 Jeff Buckley - Grace 55 Muse - Showbiz 56 Loreena McKennit - The Mask and Mirror 57 Olive - Trickle 58 Michael Card - Starkindler 59 Tegan & Sara - So Jealous 60 Imogen Heap - Speak for Yourself 61 Pilate - Sell Control for Life's Speed 62 Massive Attack - Mezzanine 63 Moby - 18 64 Enya - A Day Without Rain 65 Norah Jones - Come Away With Me 66 Enya - Shepherd Moons 67 The Rankin Family - North Country 68 Loreena McKennit - Parallel Dreams 69 Our Lady Peace - Happiness...Is Not a Fish That You Can Catch 70 Switchfoot - Learning to Breathe 71 The Rankin Family - Fare Thee Well Love 72 The Rankin Family - The Rankin Family 73 Charlotte Church - Voice of an Angel 74 Treble Charger - Wide Awake Bored 75 Our Lady Peace - Gravity I could spend months tweaking this.... it's wrong already and the top 40 or so all belong in my top 15  ...not to mention it's suffering a bit of a hangover from before I was all that into music in general... The one rule I set down for myself was that (with a couple of exceptions), only albums that I had actually had physical access to would count, because my opinion always changes when I hear an album like that. Which means alot of great stuff I liked got left off... but I just wouldn't know how to rank it. Anyway, enough silly excuses. The list is finished. :D
  20. Hey, it that the guy who has the video where he's trying to sew the wings on an angel?
  21. Aw come on... don't think of it as an ultimate list, think of it as a snapshot of where you are right now. I'll be something cool to look at it in 10 years when you've heared more and see how much your taste has changed.
  22. ^ You two just summed it all up perfectly. There's so much I haven't heard yet that I would probably like, and there's so much that I like but can't afford to buy. And it's different having a song on a real cd and listening to it up in my room or on my dad's big, rich sounding 70s speakers. I do listen to alot of music on the bus and stuff... but four hours daily is never going to happen. I need my silence too- it's when I do my best thinking. And it takes me a long time to absorb new music- weeks of listening and letting it go and then coming back to it before I feel like I know it. I did give into downloading finally, but I always delete it after I've listened a couple of times, so I wouldn't put even stuff I really liked on the list in that case, because I haven't had enough time to REALLY listen. It's a big world out there... kind of comforting really- there's still so much to explore.
  23. The horrid thing about near all nighters for papers is the next evening when your body just really wants to STOP Now... :sleeping2:
  24. I finally got Jeff Buckley's "Grace" :)
  25. :laugh3: Wow! Maybe it's just more funny because I'm running on very little sleep here, but that is brilliant! Thanks for uploading. Totally random, but cool- I just found out I have the same birthday as Jonsi!
