  1. For House of Cards, lders.nl still has a bunch of their versions uploaded. On a completly different note, I was wandering around in the scrapbook and came across this. I don't think I've ever seen him smile that much!
  2. It was only available by import for the longest time, but it finally was released domestically a couple of years ago, I think. And the local HMV isn't all that bad when it comes to stocking the occasional import. They have alot of random Sigur Ros stuff last time I checked, but I don't exactly have the money, unfortunatly...
  3. :stunned: Wow so is it really that much everywhere? What's on it? I've seen it in HMV for about $20 here. They used to have Von too, but it was gone when I went to get it.
  4. I also doubt he knew what a crayon was.
  5. Looks like Vlad the Impaler moved on to crayons...
  6. It was a few years ago so the details are fuzzy, but I remember a camera crew came to Halifax from I think it was Arkansas to pull that kind of a stunt. It didn't work so well. Everyone just kept asking them if they were trying to get back at us for Rick Mercer.
  7. *sigh* It always cracks me up that I seem to know more about AMERICAN history and geography than my mother (who is an American). The excruciating thing about it is that she says the reason that she doesn't know much about world history is that they only ever taught her American history in school. :wreck: And for the record, my mom is quite smart when it comes to many other things.
  8. :laugh3: I've seen that one before- it's great. Reminds me of Canadian comedian Rick Mercer's old segment "Talking to Americans"
  9. Hey, I have a question for anyone who knows what I'm talking about. I should mention that I have this album on vinyl, not cd. One of my favorite tracks on Illinoise is the very last one, "The Avalanche". This has really confused one of my friends who's a fan. He says it isn't on the album Illinoise, it's just the title of the outtakes album. Is he right? Does the song "The Avalanche" show up on the album the Avalanche at all? Or does it only exist on vinyl?
  10. I'm not wise... I just went through school on the wrong end of things and lived to tell about it later. It actually freaked me out at first when I took a college course the year after I graduated. All these kids who would never have given me the time of day treated me like an equal and were actually amused (in a good way) by alot of my quirks. In fact some of the kids from older grades who had bullied me back in elementary ended up in the same class as me and had grown up so much by then they were really nice people.
  11. ^ :stunned: Oh wow... they actually got their act together for a gig. I'm impressed. A new forum??! So that's where everyone disappeared to. I've been wondering. Glad you found a good home... sorry it wasn't here.
  12. The difference being that F1 drivers have to be in the same sort of shape as Olympic athletes to last an entire race. Golfers on the other hand tend to end up with beer bellies if they think of it as a sport and form of exercise. I think competitively it can reach the level of a sport, but in general it's a hobby. Of course I probably shouldn't talk. I'm the one who likes curling.

:stunned: That's exactly the same car I drive! Same colour even. Sooo much fun to drive. And the clutch is so nice on it. (I always drive a manual shift)
  14. And Ben never does something without leverage. If she's helping him again, there's probably a good reason for it. She also may be playing both sides.
  15. Oi... now I remember why I get along with guys better. The best way to win a person over is kindness, but if the other person wants no part of it one-sided friendships can be kind of pointless and draining. I think it's a personality thing- there will always be personality types that will end up closer to each other than others, and people will always be at different points in their lives- both in maturity and just what's going on. I've had plenty of friends who drifted away, and plenty of acquaintances who have turned into really dear friends. That's life. It's complicated. But there is that old cliche: The best thing about high school is that it ends. And then everyone grows up and gets over the old cliques. (edit) The funny thing is, as soon as everyone is out of that world, they suddenly realize that the people who were actually cool weren't who they thought all along. The ones who were actually cool just did their own thing, didn't worry about the distinction, and avoided all the drama. They're the ones who came out of it all with personalities.
  16. Why do I always remember the 20 things I forgot to do right before I go to bed?
  17. Scott Matthews - Dream Song
  18. Yeah, it seems to be a style that works best with familiarity... the songs always sound better on second listen when you know where they're going. But I don't think I'll be in a hurry to get it either... I got the first one because it filled a big gap in my music collection- i needed something loud and fun. Now I have that. ...But I'll probably end up getting it anyway sooner or later...
  19. Wow... think you picked the wrong board, dude. Sorry. ....
  20. I'm still not sure what to make of it. It seems to me like there's a real lonliness to it that wasn't there before... like all the time endlessly travelling on endless highways seeped into the music. I certainly don't dislike it, anyway. But come to think of it, I hated the first album the first time I listened to it. I just got bored and listened to it again anyway... and then I got it and was hooked. So maybe the same thing will happen again? *shrug* btw... those acceptence speeches from the Brits are classics! :laugh3:
  21. :uneasy: So what is this then? Some sort of a game? I like games... but why all the crypticness?
  22. Wow... well they're sure giving away answers in a hurry these days. Not that these answers can be trusted, apparently. Looks like I thought better of Juliet than she deserved. She's learned from the best.
  23. Sigur Ros - Untitled 5
  24. How long does it take to order a popular mercury music prize nominated album like Guillemots' do you ask? Not long surely. Not like 4 months and 3 reorders. That would be ridiculous. :freak: They told me today that since it still hasn't come, they could get one of the Toronto stores to ship over one of their 6 IN STOCK copies in a week or two. :bomb: Why didn't they try that two months ago? *headdesk*
